Okay so i am very new to league of legends and i want to be good. I am a noob and i want a decent top laner that is fairly easy to learn but wont absolutely suck... i did some research and and i have a few champions that i was looking at ( Jayce, garen, riven, pantheon, and tryndamere). What champion would you suggest i get?

Pantheon is low-impact and a safe pick with good resources all around and a little of everything in his kit. Jayce, if you can get the hang of his dual playstyles, can really throw opponents for a loop but lacks solid CC (only a knockback and those can botch teamfights). Garen is, of course, 450 and any 450 is a generally solid choice overall.

Riven and Tryndamere tend to fall closer to the pitfalls of melee and can be tricky to pick up if you're an all-in-all-ways player, but at least Tryndamere's pretty cheap. Both have to commit quite fully to kills though, so you might enjoy Jayce or Pantheon more as they get more opportunities for damage without penalty.

Garen and Pantheon are both really easy to use and learn

out of all the champs you mentioned id recommend Pan,

he is easy to learn, but his ulti can be a bit tricky untill you get used to the timing also... keep an eye out, certain matchups you want to start with E instead of your usual Q,

I main Pan, so if you need any other hint/tips let me know

good luck

I main Garen, but right now immobile champs like him can be a bit of a pain to play if you don't know what you're doing.

Out of your list I would suggest Jayce. He teaches you skillshot mechanics, can play safe in his ranged stance, and does well enough at higher skill levels that you can keep him as a part of your champion roster for as long as you play League. He's not as easy to learn as someone like Garen, but if you enjoy playing him and put in the effort to learn how he works he will serve you very well.

Tryndamere is a great start. Easy mechanics so you can focus on learning game strategy as opposed to getting headaches practicing how to land important skillshots to chain with another skillshot to combo with an AA reset blah blah blah... Which I find more important for winning in general.

It can get boring, but in general: Farm early. Later on, make your choice. If team comp favours teamfights, help team. If not, split push. Time the waves so that you can get things done when not pushing etc...

When you get more comfortable with him, you can try the level 2 first blood cheese, which gambles on you landing 2 crits in a row on 35%.

Jayce and RIven are pretty tough, so not those.

Trynd and Panth are easy.
