Weren't there supposed to be veigar changes in 5.7? (accidental rant haha)

I could've sworn the meddler had confirmed that there would be changes to Veigars w since his w is basically impossible to land now with his current skillset. That the w changes would allow for more landage (thats a word) because lets be honest if you see a skill that gives you a warning particle before hand of where its going to land (more so on Final boss Veigar) you wont walk into it. As well as there is no way for the stun to land against the current meta mids. If i remember right riot wanted veigar players to "Torment" their enemies inside the cage face of the matter is even you you land your "Cage" and you w in it the opposing player can just move slightly to one side of the cage haha.

P.s To open a whole new can of worms the extra range on his q is nice but at early levels the new "identity" they gave veigar has been more and more counter intuitive as the "Buffs" go on. For instance he has some good range but by some magical reason lets say i land my e in the laneing phase not only does the stun not last long enough at early levels (trades) by the time i move in to w the stun is already over and then there is the matter of positioning for the q. Riot has his kit set up so he sits back and q's minions which is nice but when i do land the stun some times i cant even trade properly because im a) so far back or b) minions are blocking the enemy champion from my q. Thoughts?Ideas?Comments? Sorry for the rant haha

Reduce impact delay to half a second, increase radius to 150, reduce damage to 60/90/120/150/180 (+50% AP), have an inner radius that increases damage to 90/135/180/225/270 (+75% AP) (That's a 50% damage increase for the inner area, which would have a radius of around...75-100 or so.) Bam. Actually usable, not exceedingly oppressive to enemies, still fantastic waveclear.

Yea, the baleful strike rework has cleverly disguised the huge disadvantages of it with the promise of faster ap farm. The only thing it really buffed was lane safety, as veigar no longer has to hover around his prey like a vulture to get the last shot. Considering how misinformed the balance team was when they nerfed him in the first place, I wouldn't be surprised if the dark matter tweaking was backlogged for more useless cosmetic buffs like missile speed on his q.

You need skillage to get landage, and make your enemys need a banage

I agree with this quite a bit. If Riot wants Veigar to torment people caught in the middle of the cage (much easier to do than land the edge of the cage, now) it would be a lot easier if his W had a larger area that it would hit when it comes down. I think that that would really be the only change I'd make, beside making his cage closer to the way it was before (maybe decreasing the time it takes for the very obvious particle effect to land on his w as well). His Q is fine, imho. It makes you think more about positioning than a point-and-click, which is a lot of what laning is about; positioning.

The extra range is real nice tho.

To be completely honest I am loving the changes to Veigar. I love the skillshot Q (especially because people don't realize it and will stand in between the melee minions and ranged minions. It's a great way to build your AP up and harass safely. The downside to it is that occasionally you want to put yourself in questionable positioning to get two AP in a Q instead of playing it safe and getting 1 AP with your Q and auto-attacking for the 2nd CS. The W seems like such a non-issue with the Q and R being so powerful late game. I won't get my W until level 9 usually. (need the stun duration to be that high to land it reliably; Q, E, Q, E, Q, R, Q, E, W)

Also, I love that there is a slight delay for event horizon to actually stun. It can pause people to freeze in a team fight and usually they make poor decisions giving you or the rest of your team time to blow them up.
