Skipping ranks

This has been a question going through my head for a while now, and it has to be answered. Recently, I got placed in bronze 5 (Sad right?) and went on with like. 11-12 game winning spree. I got promoted to bronze 4 and on my promos to bronze 3. I checked some site to check out my stats, and supposedly my mmr is of bronze 1. Is it possible for me (if I win my promos) to skip one or two divisions?

"Some site"'s don't actually know your mmr, and merely estimate it, as mmr is only known to riot and not available to third party sites or similar.

Anyway, division skipping is possible if your mmr is sufficiently higher than your current rank, but doesn't happen very often. I think it's generally around a full tier's worth of mmr before division skipping is a thing (e.g. you'd be playing with/against silver 4's while ranked bronze 4), but since exact MMR numbers aren't available, it's all pretty rough and it might be possible sooner.

Still, the easiest way to find out is to actually play them.
