Wukong Kit UPDATE

Hiya all,

In the light of recent ADC and Juggernaut Changes to make them more unique/distinct, i propose a kit update for Wukong MonkeyKing, since his kit feels a little bit lackluster. He basically is a less tanky Garen with a tail. This is a pity, because Wukong was actually the main reason why i started playing this game.

Here are my thoughts. First, i will discuss his ultimate, which is the biggest change and because it interacts with the rest of his abilities, after that I will address his other abillites of course.

  1. R - new ability: 'The Glorious Monkey King' - Activating this ability empowers Wukong and his abilities will have additional effects. (similar to Heimerdinger &Karma )

  2. Q - Crushing blow; normal ability remains the same. AA reset, armor shred, all that fun stuff.
Empowered; 'Crushing Blow' becomes 'Crushing Slam'. Crushing Slam will cause MonkeyKing to summon two Clones of himself and Wukong and both his clones will slam the ground in target direction. Crushing Slam will deal additional damage compared to Crushing Blow and will slow all enemies hit for a short duration.

  3. W - Decoy; Normal ability remains the same. Wukong becomes stealh and leaves a decoy. **Empowered: **'Decoy' becomes 'Deception'. Activating Deception will cause MonkeyKing to enter stealth for a shorter duration and will summon two clones of himself that walk around aimlessly. These clones are not controlled by the player (in contrast to Shaco's & Leblanc 's clones), but will last longer than a normal 'Decoy'. Attacking or using an ability will cause these clones to disappear.

  4. E - _new ability: Spinning Sweep _ . Spinning Sweep will cause Wukong to spin once, his staff will grow outwards and deals damage in a radius. Upon hitting an enemy with this ability, Wukong gains bonus attack speed for 4 seconds Empowered: 'Spinning Sweep' becomes 'Cyclone': MonkeyKing spins around for 4 seconds, dealing damage every second and knocking up the first time they are hit. Wukong gains movement every half a second.

  5. Passive: Unfortunately, my creative brain failed me on this one. Current passive seems adequate for now, but thoughts from the community are much appreciated. :)

TL:DR. I feel like Wukong could use a more distinct kit to make him more interesting and fun to play. I think this new kit allows the player to really feel like the Monkey KING, instead of a regular talking monkey with a stick. The only downside to this new kit is that Wukong no longer has a gap closer (Nimbus strike is changed to keep his signature 'Cyclone' in the new kit). Would love to hear your thoughts/idea's and improvements about this.

Cheers!

I personally kinda like Wukong and his playstyle.

Wu is among the most fun champions in my roster. There really is no comparison between Wu and Garen. I am not saying that one is better than the other. I am simply pointing out that there really aren't any similarities between the two.

Wu's Ultimate requires no major change. It is an excellent initiator, a decent escape tool, and a fun means of chasing down fleeing targets.

As for his Nimbus Strike. That is his most important ability. It not only enables him to close the gap between him and an enemy, but it also strikes multiple targets at once AND boosts his attack speed. I've plenty of fun using it in a combo with his Decoy to surprise and eliminate enemies.

I am almost insulted that you believe Wu needs a major change or that he's "lackluster", but that's just your opinion.

I am going to have to disagree with you here. When I started playing league, ages ago now it seems, I ONLY played Wukong, from level 1 to 30 and into ranked. However, I do not see any real comparison between Garen and Wu; they just simply have completely different play styles.
