So why did we buff Lucian at the beginning of season 6

This isn't a rage post but im actually just curious about this. A whie back around the end of season 4 early season 5 I recall riot saying that did not have a lot of meaningful weaknesses. Then comes season 5 where the Losecian meme started. Honestly I do not think was that bad in season 5 and I feel those buffs after the movement speed on his W were not necessary. I feel them buffing him creates the same problem we had in season 4 he drowns out almost every other ADCs. What do you guys think do you think Lucians to safe of a blind pick does he need a nerf and were those buffs unesc?

Okay maybe this is a half rage post because im sick of playing against this guy EVERY game.

If you are talking about the adc update then Riot buffed EVERY normal bot lane adc, to the point of making the smallest changes just so that they could say they got them all. Draven's axes literally just had some timing tweaks and nothing else. But yeah Luc could do with a slight nerf

Lucian is perfectly balanced, the range nerf to his ult did it's job, he's sub 50% winrate more pricely hovering at around 48,5%. He does see alot of play though since he's simply one of the more fun adc's to play, that doesn't mean he's OP though.

Also, you're memory serves you bad if you don't remember how bad Lucian used to be, for xZx sake, he was utterly demolised early game by the likes of Vayne who he was more or less designed to counter (lanebully with mediocre scaling for an adc).

I'd say the direct buffs/nerfs didn't really change anything about his kit. He's strong because his kit has the best synergy with the new essence reaver; which gives him more cdr and thus more opportunities to proc his passive.

Lucian is fine. Pretty strong. But you can crush him with Caits range. If you don't let him get close enough to do his two shot passive he is weak. Any form of cc from a support also shuts him down. A Morgana Q and any help from Ezreal and he's done.

I think Lucian is totally fine right now. In s5, nobody really picked him because everything that he could do, Graves could do better. I think the reason his popularity is so high is:

Graves' rework
He's fun to play
He got a really good looking, sounding, and feeling skin
Essence Reaver reworked basically for Lucian
His escape is on a negligible cooldown
His synergy with Fervor is amazing
Lucian being an early-mid game ADC. Most games in S6 are decided in laning phase or last long enough to where a single pick loses the game. His damage scales poorly into the late game since he's a caster with short range and he can't compete with a full item Jinx/Vayne/Kog/Twitch in terms of DPS.
