Am I the only one who doesn't like BotRK on Gnar very well?
Am I? While I don't think it's necessarily a 'bad' item, and it does seem to synergize VERY well with Mini-Gnar's kit, Mega-Gnar just doesn't get as much use out of the item, and Mega-Gnar is almost CERTAINLY better for when a teamfight comes around. I find Mega Gnar gets most of his damage from his abilities (Boulder Toss specifically) with their AoE damage, and the occasional Trinity Force (Which is usually my first full built item either way) proc between abilities.
I feel like I'd rather have a brutalizer item, specifically Black Cleaver, instead of Blade of the Ruined King: Mega Gnar is basically your teamfight form, and EVERY ability of his has AoE PHYSICAL damage (So it applies the Cleaver shred to all targets), and the stats themselves are great for Gnar in both forms as well. Whereas Blade of the Ruined King is more single target damage (Again, great for Mini Gnar, I won't deny), and while the slow aspect of it's active* could* be useful in catching up to a target as Mega Gnar, Between Mini-Gnar's speed and Mega-Gnar having a kit full of slows and stuns, if you're in range for the BotRK active, the enemy's probably not getting away without burning flash or an ability anyway.
Although I'd say Black Cleaver is more useful to Mega Gnar than Mini Gnar, it's not totally useless either for Mini-Gnar: Your boomerang CAN hit multiple targets (They do have to be pretty tightly grouped, I'll admit), and it's stats and armor penetration are still good for Mini-Gnar. And the cooldown reduction is actually pretty useful, even though if you keep catching your boomerang it has a relatively short cooldown. I feel like, if I'm not already Mega Gnar when a teamfight starts, I'd be better off trying to build rage from hitting my boomerang from WAY in the back lines, only taking autoattacks when it's safe, because of his relatively low autoattack range, and how squishy he is as Mini-Gnar.
So now that I got that out of the way, feel free to tell this unranked, terrible player why he's wrong, and what the better item build for Gnar is, because I'd genuinely like to improve.
