I have recently tried to main azir.
i asked my platinum friend, when do you get confident on a champion?
he said around 50-100.
i ask for tips on maining azir. but he said "what elo are you"?
then said i recommend you not maining azir.
"main azir when you are gold" i am bronze 1 right now
and i asked why?
he said, "even when mastered azir is just a mechanically difficult champion."
so i got kind of discouraged to learn azir.
Mr Carbon2 votesAzir received alot of nerfs due to his supremacy at the professional level of play. Due to this he now requires a lot of coordination and expertise to function properly which isn't obtainable at lower elos or solo queue.
For this reason you are correct in the fact that it may not be worth maining.

His mechanically complex skill set, means the skill cap is endless.
In a solo queue competitive sense though, there are better options.

Mr Carbon1 votesYeah, not to talk in a circle, but it really is because of their success at the highest level of play.
Theoretically, if you have time to master the champion (100's of games) to the fullest with world class mechanics then you could out play anybody in the game because of the skill cap.
If you had those mechanics however, you more than likely be in diamond or higher already though.
Take this equation for example - -- High Champion Skill cap + Low Stats = Low Champion Skill cap + Higher Stats
With the above equation in mind... if you lower your personal skill on the "high skill cap champion" you are then left with a inferior champion in terms of competitive power.

besides its not like you bronze playing against plats, your playing against other bronze so its not like everyone on the other team will playing perfect mechanically.

for example.
It doesn't really have much impact on their overall power level.
