Still disappointed in game Balance

i took a 1 almost 2 year break from League in hopes the game would get more balanced and fair but it feels as tho things have just become even more unbalanced and it disappoints me to see such a big company feel ok with this... how can you not see what needs fixing? I am a Game Dev my self and it really makes me sad to see such a great game fall so much in the past years... feels like you have become a conglomerate Riot just like others like EA and Bethesda have and look what happen to Bethesda!

They are far from being anything like EA or Bethesda, I can say that with a straight face. At least they don't make promises for something so hyped up, and make it all the less shitty (Fallout 76), or monetize shit out the ass that it becomes a necessity to be any good at the game (EA's recent track record before Anthem and Apex).

They are kinda similar to Blizzard tho.

Riot is pushing for asian market with as much power they can, ignoring western players, just like Blizzard is giving a boot to his old fans for mobile-app games possible revenue.

Asian players love fast paced, twitch-reflex games, so they game is even more about exactly that. Games are faster to make sure more of them can be cramped in into 2-3hours of gaming cafees that are super popular in not sure if thats china or korea, one of the 2. They long since decided to give up on western players and instead what we get is just uh... this. A mess.

Regarding clarity of information Riot's just as dirty as EA/bethesda or Activision. It's all the same but under different banners.

Sooo how's knowing nothing about asia or how gaming cafees work?

One: The most popular games in asia are games with long engagement. Like the most popular shooter in china is a csgo clone. Two: The majority of gaming cafees what people to stay since they charge hourly and the longer you are they the more you will buy things like food. Three: YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT REGIONS LOVES FAST PACED GAMES fucking na and eu Fortnite not popular in asia, cod not popular in asia and lets not forget about how fucking well the sports games sell and they are fast paced too.

I feel like people have the wrong stigma of gaming cafe's and how they work. You exactly nail the points on the head.

there are two things I'm disappointed with in riot, Diversifying bot lane with mages like they promised, and their choices of leaving yasuo the way he is.

It was nice for a patch. But just goes to prove Marksmen mains are the most whiny group of entitled stat checkers

I mean, Riot kowtowed to them from end of S1 to S7, having them be the sole mandatory class and the focus of most seasons.

Mid-season 8, actually making a sub-class of marksmen sub-optimal for a few patches and attempting to move them away from being a mandatory class had to of been a gigantic shock for them.

Season 5 marksmen were not a problem until season 5, since back before then games were long enough and marksmen scaled slow enough that everyone got to play the game. Also the Mentality was different since back then Marksmen players knew and accepted the Risk of playing a Late game champ. Now they want to make their cake and eat it too.

When they Over buffed them after the juggernaut patch and now their entire player base are entitled & whiny. They refuse to see they are playing one sided stat check champions that are unhealthy for the games overall health.

They balance this game for esport which earn them more cash. So you can uninstall this game again because it wont get any better. To be honest I wish my friends have better PC so I can play other games.

Are you a game dev for a competitive multiplayer game? Because that is a different experience to being game Dev for normal games. MOBAs are like Facekook. Yo have to constantly change it to keep it fresh, or people will loose interest. Perfect balance would lead to ppl eventually growing bored with the game and leaving. So the devs work hard to constantly change which champs are strong, in order to make players rotate naturally through champions and not grow bored.

Well, I'm not saying all these things are necessarily 100% true, but that is the philosophy Riot uses to justify always keeping some champs on top, and some on the bottom.

Well I'm still pretty sure that what I said is an actual design philosophy, for any type of service that only offer engagement, and not any tangible benefit, to the user. The idea is that if the way the user interacts with the product becomes to standardized and predictable, users will eventually become bored. Imagine if the meta in LoL stayed the same year by year. So you want to mix things up periodically, keeping the experience fresh, even though it is largely the same game. Again, not vouching for this design philosophy, just explaining it.

Let's face it; the majority of the Riot higher-ups and decision-makers care fuck all for this game at this point; they're all yes-men to Tencent. Now, to be fair to them, many of the actual coders, artists, community team and story team DO care (just look at that artist that pushed for Taliyah to be in the BA skinline), but they get shut down by those yes-men (just look at BA Taliy...oh wait...).

Also, special one to Ghostcrawler, may he never haunt these halls again; YOU CANNOT BALANCE A GAME YOU DON'T PLAY. He should have been fired on the spot for saying that....
