Last whisper question

It says 30% bonus armor penetration. Its weirdly worded. Is that 30% increase to MY bonus armor pen? Or does that mean I will penetrate through 30% of their bonus armor?

The latter. It works exactly the same as the old last whisper. Except that now it works on "bonus armor" instead of "armor." Meaning that if your opponents don't build any armor items, last whisper is now worth just the ad because they have no "bonus armor" to reduce. I'm going to stop putting it in quotes now, but bonus armor is any armor you gain not including levels. All champs gain armor per level, but armor from items and runes and masteries are all bonus armor and will be reduced by last whisper.

I take it back, I can see one reason to buy a last whisper item even with the enemy team not building armor; If you need the grevious wounds passive.
