Bruiser meta is back!

I know what you're thinking. "No it's not, dumbass!"

But wait! Hear me out. Now, I'm not going to say anything that hasn't already been said before, but it finally dawned on me today what's been happening. Everyone knows that the nerfing of tank items/buffing of AD items and the insane amounts of shielding/survivability given to ADCs on this patch has caused problems. Specifically how hard it is to actually kill an ADC (like the Vayne that just carried me last night who just wouldn't die). I started to think about a time when I heard a lot of complaints about a similar thing happening to my favorite lane.

There once was a time when top lane bruisers were untouchable. They did too much damage and were too tanky. They filled a dual purpose with their itemization and their overloaded kits. NOW we're seeing the return of the bruiser meta, but this time in the BOT lane. Itemization on tanks, supports, and ADCs have all changed to make this so.

Now, there are a few actual bruisers who benefited from the itemization changes, but not nearly as profoundly as ADCs have. Riven, Renekton, Darius, are all good candidates for as an example. Overall, while troublesome, these champs are more manageable, because they are 1) melee and 2) not receiving the attention of the support to keep them alive constantly.

So yeah, bruiser meta is definitely back...but in a much scarier way.
