9 Years and This Game Still Has No Mic Function

Straight and to the point.

This game has been out for 9 years and it still has no mic function.

-Call of Duty ranked modes have mic functions. -Counter-Strike has mic functions. -Smite has mic functions. -Rainbow Six has mic functionality. -Overwatch has mic functionality.

Why is it that a multi-billion dollar company struggles to implement this? You guys promote competitive play but fail to add a key element that is necessary for many competitive games. It is nearly impossible to communicate with your team midway through fights just through typing. While pings may add a sense of communication, it can only do so much. With mics, we would actually be able to understand one another and communicate, just like the "pro players" do (which is what you guys love to promote, right?)

Yes, I do understand that "Twitch Voice" and "Discord" and "Skype" exist, but not all of us have these applications downloaded. Face it, the chances of your randomly matchmade team going on discord just to communicate with one another for one single game is lower than I-Main-Yasuo getting out of Bronze V.

I understand that you guys mentioned the idea of a mic function previously, but can the community get an update on it? It would be very much appreciated.

P.S. Add a mute function as well for mics for.... obvious reasons.

Edit 1: Yes, I do understand the fact that people will get annoyed of hearing the trolls and their teammates raging at them. But, there is a simple solution: a mute option. Just like being able to mute their pings and what they type out, you should also have the option to mute their voice comms.

Last thing I need is to hear the trolls...

Then they should implement a mute system as well where you can mute voice comms with specific people, just like in every other competitive game that has a ranked playlist.

Riot said they are working on a Voice function but it will only be for pre-made teams.

I appreciate the fact that they're doing that, but it's sorta pointless tbh. Chances are, if you're a premade team, you're already using Discord/Skype to talk with your team, since more likely than not, they're you're friends. It's a step in the right direction, but they need to make it available to solo queue as well.

It's not that they CAN'T, it that they don't WANT to, the problem is the community, well... it's not the best out there. They like the idea of 4 people screaming and yelling at someone who just wants to have fun, it can ruin a fun game.

I understand that, but like every other competitive game that has a ranked system, they should also implement a way to mute specific players on your team. The problem with 4 people screaming at you can be easily fixed.

if you wanted to speak to your teammates, you would have grouped with them and have a third party service

I'm talking about solo queue games here. When I'm playing with my friends, I'll just hop on discord. But what are the chances of a randomly premade team actually agreeing to go on Twitch Voice or Discord? Very little, and voice comms, in my opinion, plays a big role in competitive games in general.

Idk, I was just putting my two cents into it. It would seem beneficial in my eyes, being able to communicate with other through voice comms instead of having to type out everything, but I also understand why people would be against it.
