So, in this attached image, you can see that it says I'm being "shielded from demotion" because I've lost too many games at 0 LP. But I'm kind of confused how it actually works. The way the warning is worded makes it seem like if I don't win a certain amount of games in a certain amount of time, I'll automatically demote no matter what my LP is. Is that how it works? Or is it just saying that if I lose any more games at 0 LP I'll get demoted?
BLACK REALM GOD2 votesit's saying that you wont be demoted, but if you continue to lose you will eventually be demoted. it's kind of counter-intuitive.
Sukishoo2 votesThe shielding takes place after you've placed, and stays up for a certain amount of games base on how high your MMR is (which we can't be 100% sure of what that is) but once you actually reach the point where you've fallen below the marker it will remove the shielding and demote you should you continue to lose.
GrievousFetus2 votesIt should really be replaced with a demotion imminent warning, telling you that if you lose the next game you'll be demoted. This is such a backwards way to do it.

Since the end of the season is near, i'm wondering what will happen if i only play one game till the end of the season like in the 28 last days (to not be demoted for inactivity) and if i lose it. Will i loose LP and potentially be demoted if i dont play like during 2 weeks ?

But basically you're playing below your MMR, winning will improve that, continuous losing will make you eventually drop, the shield is temporary.
CrisisEchoes1 votesIt is blocking you from losing lp, but your mmr will drop. So you will start getting +18, +17, all the way to about +14 lp per win then you drop to silver 1. Your losses will start climbing too, so until you go on a winstreak or two your lp will remain around zero

Numinol1 votesActually, at least for me, its just there when you lose a match at 0LP if you win and gain some LP you can restart and it isn't there anymore. it is only supposed to be there when your lose at 0LP so it makes sense why it doesn't make sense that its there when you have LP :

its saffron bb1 votesI had an 8 game loss streak at 0 lp in gold and didnt get demoted.. then won one, and lost another 5.. but i got back up to 15 LP. Is it safe to just not play ranked? or will my lp slowly go down?
