Champions upgrade towers

Since towers had "rework" everybody noticed that every tower when you click on it had 7 slots (3 filled and 4 empty). From that moment, for every patch, I expect that new function of slots on towers... But that's not happening.

So I wanted to start this thread in hope that Riot will noticed it.

Maybe now more then ever I fell that this is really needed feature. Based on this: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/TKuNRV1n-why-are-towers-no-longer-safe I think that this is perfect time that @Riot start working on this.

Idea is simple

  • New items in shop (Only tower items related)
  • Champion can buy turret items
  • Champion comes in turret range and drag and drop item in turret empty slot
  • Tower is now upgraded with item.

If you think about it - it make sense.

So what will players get with this:

  • Better gameplay
  • More strategic thinking
  • Balancing safe play under the tower

Feel free to comment if I missed anything so we can wrap up this feature and do some analyze on the gameplay.

Interesting idea. I'm not a balance team, but I'm sure they could balance it. Would that be fun? Sitting under tower? Would it be safe to increase tower's attack speed making it harder to last hit yes, but also making it impossible to take the tower without a huge slow push. Increasing range? they have been like that for I would assume years. they might even have to change the map if they increase turret range. turret damage? I mean ok feel safer, but your enemy laner is still just gonna freeze lane and make you overextend. Interesting? yes. Amazing? idunno man I don't care either way

Hmm... you missed a point here. If you use your gold to buy items for turret upgrade then you will not have any items on your champion, so you need to balance your gold based on your lane situation to make best option for you. Also you can't use champions items on towers, only tower related items. Maybe it would be better for you to give something constructive... for example suggestion for turret item or similar ?

No, just no. Towers need more direct buffs, not items. It's a dumb suggestion.
