Server Moves

I've seen a lot of complaining about the server move. But really so many people are whining about 40 ping to 80 or even 100 ping. WHY?? I understand that there are some places (looking at you Alaska and Hawaii) where this sucks but you know what Y'all had decent ping before hand. I don't think this is going to be the permanent solution either. I just know it redistributed the ping. I would rather everyone had decent ping than a couple place had amazing ping when the majority of people had terrible.

Unless you are in Alaska or Hawaii I crie item 3070 Amumu item 3070

EDIT: I understand 100 ping is pretty laggy but y'all have had the best ping for forever. EDIT 2: I had my ping go from 30-40 to 70-80

People are forgetting that the west coast still has a better ping than what the east coast used to have.

Well yeah, I'm in Alaska and I gained about 200 ping so I might be crazy but I think I have a right to be at least slightly pissed.

I live on the East coast, before the server move I could connect to EU West and only have 5-10 ping more than connecting to my home region.

The problem is that moving bad ping from one place to another is NOT a solution. I've always felt bad for east coast players, but now they act like its fair other people get their ping. Hypocritical and makes me start to feel like they deserved shitty ping.

Riot doesn't care about us here in Hawaii and I understand why (we are the minority) but still. It sucks having to leave my favorite game just because of a server move. Ill probably play again once Japan gets their server (helps that I'm learning Japanese right now too :D)

When a Westcoast person complains about high ping, an Eastcoast person smiles.

Someone Posted this the other day. I laughed at how true it was... It's still funny.

I feel bad sure, but at the same time. I laugh. I'm a horrible person... Teemo

The responses I've seen have actually largely been positive. And that makes sense, given that far more players saw a drop in ping, than those who saw an increase.

I'm very happy about the move, myself. And yes, I did see a benefit from it (80 down to 35). But even that aside, the change creates a much more environment overall. Most players in the continental US should have 80ms or less. If it's higher than that, it's probably more of a routing issue than raw distance from the servers. 80ms is certainly a playable ping (many of us have done so for years). As you said, the only people that really have a right to complain are those in Hawaii or Alaska (and the far reaches of Canada as well, I suppose).

But I don't think anybody should look at this as some sort of vengeance for the west coast getting to enjoy low ping for so long. It's really not. It's just a leveling of the playing field for the vast majority of players within the region.
