Full Tanks deal Most Damage? Every Game?

Skai Lark··3 votes·1,013 views

As the title says, every game I play there is at least one champ that builds full tank (5 tank items + boots) and on the post game screen it shows they dealt the most damage (by far). At first I thought maybe the guy was just fed, but now after every single game I play I check the damage meter and every single time, whoever plays a tanky champion and builds full tank.. deals the most damage?? I'm sorry but how does this make any sense at all?? Please explain.

You do realise that champions like Darius are not tanks?

^

neither are yorick, mundo, xin or vi.

leona was the only actual tank in his last game. and was last in damage.

that yorick who was highest on the enemy teams damage charts had a titanic hydra, steraks and triforce. so no suprise there.

They build full tank and they run at you with 3-4k hp so people call them tanks.. I dont think the concept of having the defense of a tank and the offense of a carry is too healthy but maybe thats just me lol.

well, i think the concept of a class of champions that is binary and either deals ridiculous damage from a safe distance with little counterplay, or blows up before they are useful in any shape or form, a class that is at the same time feast or famine, and at the same time is so mandatory to perform well to give their team a chance to winning the game is even less healthy.

but maybe thats just me.

These champs cannot out DPS any real damage champ, but when you jump into the entire enemy team and hit multiple champs at a time --- that's just it, you do multiple times the damage. And as a beefy champ, you can probably live long enough to do that damage two or three times before the fight's over

the damage charts are skewed anyways and are influenced by so many factors. the total damage to champions just homgenizes all the damage every champion did over the course of the entire game.

here a few examples.

1.) lets start with the lane phase. whos playing agaisnt who?

in this case it was a mundo vs. a yorick. both having % health damage in their kits on poke abilities while stacking large amounts of health, while having sustain abilities in their kits. this means throughout the lane phase theyre constantly poking each other and trading large amounts of damage, while also out sustaining that damage.

meanwhile on bot lane. the adc and supports are dancing around each other trying to stay away from each other while csing. if a fight breaks out, its decided in a short timeframe.

2.) how much did the yorick participate in fights compared to the ashe? did he actually participate in a lot of fights and skirmishes, while the ashe was splitpushing the entire game on bot lane?

3.) how were the fights decided? did the ashe always die before she could actually do anything, while yoricks team was ahead and repeatedly rolled over the enemy team?

Base damages on abilities and Sunfire add up when you have the ability to stay alive in fights for multiple spell rotations.

Can you name a few examples of Tanks you have seen?

Tanks deal primarily AoE damage.

Tanks are primarily hitting squishy targets (dealing almost unmitigated damage).

Tanks tend to live longer in fights (since they aren't immediately focused down like carries are).

Tanks often lane against other tanks in top lane, so they build up a lot of damage simply hitting one another during the laning phase.

Also, you are probably possibly confusing fighters/juggernauts with tanks.

look into his most recent game. hes talkign about yorick.

Are you taking into consideration that during the laning phase they are most likely dueling a tank.

If two tanks constantly slap each other with wet noodles in order to bully the other out of lane, the amount of damage they are dealing will continue to stack up.

On the flip side, mid and bot lanes tend to rely on less sustained damage and more on burst damage, leading to fewer and more time between trades.

Then when it comes to the team fighting phase tanks will have built up enough sustain and resistances in order to deal a decent amount of AOE damage to multiple targets without being deleted instantly.

Tanks also have to be a threat or they would just be ignored.

And come on, we call them "Tanks" for crying out loud. ....

What part of this term doesn't suggest to you that it would deal damage.

They've got good damage early and mid, and by late it's high sustained damage if they're allowed to live. Hell, I tend to get pretty high damage numbers playing Braum support because I'm able to keep casting Q and punch things.
