I don't know what's wrong with Riot's matching system

I've been playing this game for years, and I feel like right now everything has gotten worse, people just keep picking irelia non-stop because she's braindead op and riot didn't do anything about her for couple of patchs now, because they think she is fine being picked anywhere and being strong there unlike ADCs, that aside, I actually want to talk about in-game experience, the Ranking difference between teams in normal are ridiculously stupid, me and my girlfriend had no fun at all when we are playing against a team that's like 3-5 divisions above ours, this is crazy, it wasn't like this at all. It's just frustrating to play a game when you know you going to lose in 5 mins not only due to the current game flow but also the skill difference between the two teams, you lose and you play another game like this all over again. I remember this game used to be fun or at least evenly match in elos in normal and ranked, and right now it just feel like it's messy and unpleasant. Maybe no one will read this, but I think I just need to get this out of my system, I will stop playing the game for awhile because my girlfriend and I don't really enjoy these highly mismatch games. Hope you guys will make improvement in the future.

I think they loosing player base quicker than anticipated so they let zoo inmates to play too.

I mean that too in Ranked sometime, but I think the game design at its core is losing their function, like right now the game is so one sided and you have these mismatch games and you will just feel like shit when you lose, because when you lose you lose so hard. I felt a need to post this because my girlfriend got really upset after few games, so I kind of want to talk about this issue, but I don't think Riot would care that much about it.

match making for normal? I think the hidden mmr works the same

Okay Im D1, I rarely play normal Now when I Q up, I get place with silver gold players cause my mmr (for norm) is low

My friend is like plat? Play lots of normal, so he Q up norm, match with plat + players

If you get match with ppl high rank in norm, maybe cause ur winning too much lmao invite others low rank maybe it will fix it, but premade usually get match with premade and it can be very very unbalanced as well. Meh idk how rito works anymore

Matchmaking in normals is a complete SEESAW. And Irelia... yep.

I just had to face a Diamond 5 Irelia bot. We won early but then her natural stats just happened? If I missed my stun (Bard Q, vs a hyper-mobile... jfc) I died. If I hit it, they'd hard engage me and I died.

Her sup picked Leona (which is her best counter), and then they banned Morganna, which counters them both. Absolute Sadists.

The whole 'new meta bot' is just the old off-meta picks taking roost in botlane. The key is HARD ENGAGE. That's Irelia's thing, and as she has an anti AA ability ontop of that she thrives.

As for matchamaking- it's so bad because of premades, mostly. I think it's a lot more see-saw like as you don't have to play provisionals to 'climb', too. And I feel like (for example) if you play with plat friends your MMR can mimic plat MMR if you hold a steady winrate with them--- and then when you go to play soloQ you'll face plats and lose.
