So this Kennen Movement Speed bug...

... that I was about to make a thread about isn't actually a Movement Speed bug at all? The Tooltip on Kennen 's Lightning Rush says he gains 335 MS for 2 seconds, as well as a 4 second Armor and MR buff, right? So I'm at the default 335 and hit E and my MS only went up to 565. With the micro-Homeguard effect you start the game with now, Kennen starts at 481 MS, (335 + 146). When you pop Lightning Rush it jumps to 649, (335 + 146 + 168). In fact, my Movement Speed didn't actually hit 670, as the Tooltip would suggest, until I was sporting Mobility Boots. I'm over here like "Whoa whoa whoa, hol' up, hol' mah phone." There's obviously either a Tooltip error or a bug at fault here, right?

Apparently not; looking around the Wiki I found that Movement Speed has a soft-cap. From the Wiki:

"These are the simplified formulas:

  • If the raw speed is 415 or under, no cap is applied.
  • If the raw speed is between 415 and 490, final speed is soft capped to RawMS × 0.8 + 83.
  • If the raw speed is above 490, final speed is soft capped to RawMS × 0.5 + 230."

That last part about "RawMS × 0.5 + 230" makes sense, because (335 + 335) is 670, and (670 × 0.5 + 230) sure is 565 just like I was experiencing.

The math checks out on the rest of it also, so I guess my bottomline question here isn't "Why doesn't Kennen get the full boost" as much "Why does Movement Speed have a soft-cap at all instead of just having the Tooltips and stuff more accurately reflect what the final numbers will be? D:

Butalsowhydoesn'tKennenget670? My sorrow. lol
