you can play champs you don't own on One for All, so why not?
But....there's a reason I don't buy Yasuo or Kalista or Elise, etc. It's because I've tried them, and hated them. Even if they are on free week, the chance of getting them in ARAM is small, as I wish it to be. There are champions in this game that people don't want to be forced to play, just because the play style of the champ doesn't fit the play style of the player. As an avid ARAM player, I just think that there should be a minimum # of champions to have before you can play the gamemode (similar to Ranked, but would include Free Week Champs) because I hate those Lux and Ziggs only accounts. I also think that the punishment for dodging in ARAM should be much stronger (as in longer wait until requeue) because people shouldn't be allowed to just pick and choose who they want, and it often wastes so much time for all the other players.
yes, but with a higher chance to get champs you own (something like 65% it will be one you own). I don't think this one is a popular opinion, but I also think they should get rid of mastery in ARAM. For one, you can't get lvl 6-7 mastery through ARAM, so it feels like a waist of time to get S rank in ARAM and two, the way it is now you end up getting mastery with champs you don't own, some of which you don't own for a reason and have no wish to get mastery with.
i think it should be able to be toggled after you own 8 champs.
the issue with that is people would just make an aram account for just 8 really op champs in aram.
so it really cant be done
I understand people don't want to fight the champs who are good in ARAM all the time, but I don't exactly go there to play champions that I dislike.

It picks between champions you own and also the free champions for that week?

ARAM Smurfs... never knew such a thing existed. lol learn something new everyday.
i voted yes because it would be a great place to find new and exciting champions. :D. example : you're new to the game. you maybe played a few champions. jump into aram! you'll basically be playing a brand new champion each time you queue up. a great way to meet new favorites.
