Let's Talk AD Taric Top
I wonder is it still viable? I tried it out for a few games and found that the results were very pleasant when against AD Bruisers though I was mistaken for a Challenger while going as Taric Top.

Ok. Let's talk about Taric and his outrageous behaviour.
I have played Taric Top and Jungle and I tend to carry my team by being a brick wall and by providing that well loved peel for everyone else. Though at this point in time my rune page is still in complete I can still out do all melee bruisers and some magic bruisers.
Taric is truly outrageous.
Every Taric discussion either ends in:
Braum completely replaced him as a support
He's the new old-Sion of top lane and had his passive damage gutted.
It's Niche.
Thanks for the insight guys. Here's what I'm going to do on my main once it's unbanned from its wrongful ban at the hands of the "Attempting to Reconnect" issue plaguing me:
Movement Speed Quintessence x3 Marks of Armour x9 Seals of Armour x9 Glyphs of Magic Resist x9
This will give me the movement speed and the beginning armour that will help me out throughout the lane phase.
For my masteries, I'll go with 9/12/9 since I favour a well rounded mastery page above the standard 9/21/0 page.
So far from my experiences, I've undoubtedly destroyed all AD Bruisers that have challenged me including:
Darius Shyvana Riven Nidtapee Nasus
I've beaten most AP Bruisers too with a few hands.
My build this far has been:
Triforce Randuin's Omen Spirit Visage Frozen Heart Mercury Reads Warmogs
With this, I've competently won lane repeatedly.
Any suggestions?
I would build Taric top as a mana armor bruiser. Iceborn Gauntlet, Frozen Hearth, Randuins, Wits End, Ninja Tabi etc.
Sadly had one in a promo game... He had impact on the game... Felt like 4v5...
He makes a good frontliner against a heavy AD team, for sure, and I tend to think that he fills a similar role to Alistar (who is a stronger pick overall). I would personally go for 6/21/3 masteries on him, as I feel he benefits most from the defense tree. As for runes, I would go for mixed pen reds, move speed quints, armor yellows, and either scaling or flat MR blues (depending on who the lane opponent is).
Your item build is solid, though. I might switch out Tri Force for Iceborn in certain situations where I really want the permaslow, or instead of Warmogs I might go for Frozen Mallet to give him that nice slow.
I agree that Taric HAS to build some forms of increased mana and/or regen; he goes OOM very quickly if you're doing any kind of regular combat.
A Triforce or IBG is a must; he does way too well with Sheen to not buy it. TF gives more damage, and movement speed that Taric really appreciates (slow as hell) but IBG is tankier and the slow makes him sticky. Situational.
I've tried Muramana but I felt like it took forever to get going and didn't do enough for it to be worth it. I've considered trying ER on him but haven't messed with it, anyone else tried it?
CDR is stupid good on him (6 second W and 9 second stun and heal before his Passive) but again, mana is of significant concern.
