support items

I saw the new choices for jungles to choose items, and i was hoping that the same could be offered to supports the same balance. I would like to see more item choices for say, adc support or ad support item. Other choices would be great to see.

One more point would be to offer late game trinket upgrades. Something useful but proceed to the point that it wouldn't even be considered until after all items have been bought. Something like 2k i would think

What are other thoughts on this?

Great idea! You should make a thread outlining possibilities. With the Jungle upgrades as a template, should be easy, like;

Base Support Item Supporty Thing™ - gives GP5 and 2 yellow wards (think sightstone, but a crappy starter item)

Upgrades to Supporty Thing Tank upgrade to Supporty Thing - Adds HP5 and Health to Supporty Thing Passive support upgrade - Adds MP5, GP5, and Move Speed Aggressive upgrade - Adds flat AP/AD damage on hit, Gold on champion/tower hit

  • All Upgrades increase item wards to 3 Greens

Enchant Upgraded Supporty Thing Heal/Shield buff - Increases heals and shields by X%, gives MS and AS Armor/MR buff - Adds Armor and MR to item, activate to shield target for X% of your total HP Vision buff - All your wards/trinkets last 30% longer and wards have +1 health bar, +1 to items ward pool, and your green wards on map cap is increased to 4


This is all garbage off the top of my head, no need to tell me it sucks, just run with it.

There have been many threads like this,but i dont remeber any Reds.

Its sad because this is actually a pretty good idea.

How about something like this:

3 starting items your choice free with no cost. But can only have one of course (Just like the items used now) passive gold generation (coin) aggressive gold for enemy hits (dagger) and shared file with a heal on minions (shield)

Then an upgrade to something from there tank stats, attack damage, ability power, life steal, spell vamp, a hybrid, etc.

Then a couple upgrades on those with the same passive and actives as now

As for trinkets, my idea was; what is there after you have all 6 items, and now have no more room for wards? Vision is very important, why can't we have a late game upgrade for trinkets to be like the warding item with multiple wards that either stack up over time or replenish at fountain. A price to match a late game final upgrade, say around 2000 or 3000 gold.

Any thoughts or other ideas on the subject?

Also, a few things on the shield. late game it becomes nearly impossible to use this item, due to the fact that everyone can kill minions before i can use the shield to get some shared farm and a heal. I would like to see this item have a timer on it so that the later the game goes, the higher health a minions had can still be popped. Something else I'd like to see is tenacity added to the shield. It's a tank item without the main tank stat. One more point, is the fact that the active while useful, it is ultimately not enough for the tradeoff. The tank gives up a large portion of health to give a very short lived shield. I'd like to see health given rather then a shield.

The shield did see a very small buff recently but i think it could use some thing more or different.
