Rapid Fire Cannon Suggestion

I have thoroughly enjoyed the new items in this preseason and I have been thinking about how non-marksman champions may benefit from some of the new item builds.

The rapid fire cannon, a possible alternative to the static shiv has caught my attention and made me think about how unique it is. Although it's usefulness is limited to champions with ranged basic attacks, I believe that unique interactions with the item may be looked at in the future. Twisted fate, as an example, can proc the passive to gain range on his yellow card. But what if we took one more step and added the effect to Gangplank Q?

Playing critplank is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had in league of legends and this would improve upon that build significantly. Statik shiv is a great item to build when creating your optimal critplank, but now we have an alternative with a great opportunity to create something special.

As Gangplank, you want to farm creeps with your Q and E+Q combo for silver serpents and bonus gold. Statik shiv's passive may kill creeps and deny you extra gold and serpents. But rapid fire cannon, which provides you stats like the shiv, won't deny your bonuses. The passive would also let you Q your barrels from farther away, creating some clutch plays while you try to charge the item. The Q also procs on hits so it only makes sense that the RFC would increase the range. Lastly, it fits thematically. The guy has a hand cannon of a gun and his ultimate is literally a rapidly firing cannon barrage.

Please let me know what your thoughts are and if you'd like to see this change or why you don't believe this would be a beneficial interaction.

I think it's a great idea and also fits thematically. Out of curiosity, what would your typical s6 critplank build be? Don't play gp currently but I'm looking to pick him up and would like some advice in terms of itemization.
