How to catch up as adc.
Just wanted to know how to catch up if you're behind. Kinda new, and the tutorial doesn't help much.

Pick a mage or Lucien and win almost by default. Lol.
Basically the solution in this game to catching up is never fall behind. Because you can’t really catch up anymore.

Very very false. But very expected answer.

Not false at all. With how snowbally This game is, lanes are decided at level 3. One kill May as well be 3.
You die. Let’s say it wasn’t first blood. Enemy gets a kill, an assist and 2 turret plates off one death. 300 gold (kill), 150 gold (assist), 320 gold (plates), 240 gold (crashed and uncontested minion wave).
1010 gold off one kill. That’s the lead that one kill currently generates. That is massive. And gives enough of an advantage to snowball out of control.

It is very false.... for multiple reasons.
1, the adc is not there alone. So they are not getting full gold for the plates.... plus you are assuming everyone has perfect cs, and that the support and adc died at the same time and that the enemy bott lane is still healthy enough to not worry if your jungler ganks.
2, While the gold is good, 1k gold lead is not detrimental as long as you know the power spikes. For example if Ezreal died early, but had enough for a tear.... he can be just fine with less gold than the enemy because he will make up for it in Klepto for example. It is VERY debateable depending on the champions and how well you know the different power spikes and if you fix the mistake you did before that got you and the support both killed.
3, None of that has to do with mages or Lucian at all specifically either. That part was a complete and total lack of understanding of the game on your part comment. Which like i said, very very wrong, but understandable that you are confused.
4, The only reason it snowballs is due to one team having a massive skill lead on the other person. So perhaps you need to learn how to play from behind in order to figure out how to win from behind and not give up at 5 minutes and spam surrender at 15 and then start trolling if it doesnt happen (thats usually how it goes.)

That’s irrelevant. You generated 1k gold for your team in one shot. And okay fine. Let’s chop 300 gold off because you seem to think support gold is irrelevant. THATS STILL 700 GOLD FROM ONE KILL. As for the perfect cs remark. If you are under no pressure, yeah you should have perfect if not near perfect cs. Also I was not account for the support and adc dying at the same time. This is one kill. And if the other stays in this 2v1 or tries to contest, they will be killed. It’s not a question. It will happen.
1k gold off one kill is EXTREMELY impactful. Do you even play this game? That’s almost the difference between having a bf sword and not. That’s almost an entire sheen. As for fixing the mistake, the mistake isn’t fixable now. It’s already done. You already fucked up and handed your enemy 1000 gold.
That was mostly sarcasm. Which I should know the forums has no grasp of. But. Mages have an extreme amount of kill pressure as does Lucien. So no. My point stands.
Massive skill lead. No. It takes one kill to snowball. Just one. Then it takes a massive skill lead to come back. You have to play at almost 2 ranks higher than the enemy to come back. Unless you are in bronze. Then a trained chimp could probably manage it.
This game is feast or feed now. You either win the game or lose just as hard. And while yes, comebacks are a thing, the exception is not the average.

You are living in a perfect world which is not league. Especially since i have contested and killed the enemy ADC or support because they overstayed. I am also a support main, and have been for about 4 years or so. So i know very well how bot lane goes, and how easily it can turn from good to bad, or bad to good. It all revolves around power spikes. For example, Lucian and Thresh have a power spike of level 2. They will most likely win lane unless they play badly or unless the enemy bot laners can match their engage. Kogmaw and twitch need a bit more, their power spikes are with Hurricane and Bork mostly though twitch's level 6 does help too. Once they get those, they can absolutely shred team fights if they are not focused/if the team provides enough peel. I can go on with this list, but you will likely not understand why these things are important to know for people.
I do play this game quite a bit. I have about 6000 normal games alone not including anything else. My commentary of the fact that 1000 gold is not a major handicap is because of power spikes costing different amounts, and having varying degrees of spike. Also, you are forgetting about if the enemy was shoved off the minions in the first place before dieing (inwhich usually involves a gank inwhich it is not assured that the adc will get the kill....) so they could just be catching up, rather than pulling ahead. But then again in your perfect world, everyone had perfect cs and then all of a sudden one side just magically exploded and the other one of that side magically just disappears until the other one comes back.... then still keeps perfect cs. That is what your story is telling me. Do you even play bott lane at all?
What you said was false and so you say it was sarcasm, when you opened your mouth and inserted your foot into a thread that was asking for advice on how to do this, which you are saying is impossible.... but yet it is very easily done if everyone does not have the mentality that you are trying to promote.
Gee. Here i thought we were playing league of legends, not some world of tanks type game where if you die you are unable to play anymore throughout the entire game. Maybe all the comebacks that i have done and that my team mates have done were just flukes. Maybe the knowledge of itemization of ahead or behind is absolutely and totally useless along with how to stay safe when behind and how to farm under tower is useless because if you arnt ahead you should just uninstall right away! Dang, this makes league life so much easier! Good thing that i met someone like you to make me rethink how i play league!
The only people that say that you cant catch up are those that have been playing for only a few months and are often bronze mentality that watch some streamer and then recites their commentary like they are bible quotes at sunday school. The only reason im even bothering with you right now is because i do not want to see newer players get confused with the bs that you are trying to push as a fact.

- You said kill and assist. Thus, two deaths for the enemy team. You are also working in major theory, and also due to your experience (or to me i see the lack there of) you think that you are playing against or with bots pretty much. Always predictable, always know what they are going to do, always know how it will turn out. The support getting gold is not important. The adc getting gold is the important part unless they are playing a damage carry support like Brand, Velkoz, Lux, Neeko, etc. Supports work with the gold they get. You dont hear often a support complain about no assist, unlike an adc whine that the support got the kill or didnt back off the tower or whatever. If i get gold, i am getting items that help out my ADC generally (for example, Zyra first item usually is Rylais or Liandires, both help with poking enemy out of lane. Janna/lulu/nami first item is a toss up between redemption and ardent. Etc)

You just lost all credibility in your first sentence. A kill and an assist. One kill in bot lane = 1 kill for the adc, 1 assist for the support. But you know what. Fine. Let’s add that to this gold lead by saying you killed both of them. Tack on an extra 450 gold for bot lane. 1460 gold from one double kill. That’s the gold generated in your situation.
As for support gold doesn’t matter unless you play x champion support. THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST PLAY AND WINRATE.
as for my bot games recently. I have a friend who’s just started. I have almost 1.4 or 1.5k games totally. But I see you only cherry pick what you want.
Also bringing up match history again, further invalidates your points being brought up.
Also jungle pressure is not required for a kill. :/ if you pick Lucien zyra into kog Janna. That lane is a shit stomp. You don’t need the jungler to kill them.

Seeing as the OP's post was about ADC in the first place, perhaps you should stop trying desperately to find your own excuses to try and prove me wrong and perhaps actually try to understand what i am saying.
Like i said, 4 years as a support main, i can tell you for sure that me not getting an assist does not matter as much as the ADC not getting a kill or assist. I have also played ADC every now and then..... what you have failed to understand is the cost of item builds for ADC vs support. You should add up the cost of items for the two different roles, you can even use op.gg or whatever site that people use for looking at items. Maybe you will learn something new that you never thought of before.
I havent actually looked at your match history at all, i was refering to how it feels to play against bots. Thus, "you think you are playing with or against bots." Then going into how it feels to play against bots. I was refering to your "perfect world" where everything is predictable. The experience i am talking about is what is shown in your commentary. The fact that you were playing bot games recently doesnt matter much to me because i play bots from time to time just cause i can, and also to play with friends of mine who are not particularly...... pvp ready or willing.... i help out newer players with answering questions and giving tips etc etc if they have questions etc.
I brought up my total games simply because i am using it to show you that in that many games.... i see 1000 gold and while i know it helps, it does not not mean anything, especially seeing as i have seen over 4x as many games inwhich things turn out differently depending on the situation at hand. I am telling you from experience, you can pick yourself up from behind.
Jungle pressure is generally the only reason the bott lane does more than poke at eachother unless one side messes up or unless one side has engage that was not countered properly (such as Leona hitting her E, and the enemy Janna failed to knock her with her Q before Leona finished getting to her target, then the ADC goes in and chunks down the target). In an evenly matched in skill bott lane, then there wont be really any kills. It will be a farm fest with poking eachother in an attempt to get them out of lane. If you played bott lane much, you would see these things quite a bit. The higher rank you get, the less kills that are normally in the game.
Actually he is correct. It's damn near impossible to catch up if you fall behind. The ONLY time you can actually catch up is if there are fed people on your team putting in work. While they are shitting on the enemy team, you can more or less safely farm lanes and the jungle and kinda come back into the game. But if you fall behind and everyone on your team is feeding then the game is just over. There is no way you can catch up unless half the enemy team goes afk.

Except for the fact that early game champs lose to late game champs later on generally. They have different strengths and weaknesses that when played correctly can end up winning a losing game. Heck, ive won a game where we were 20 kills to their 50 simply because we had every lane shoved so hard they were unable to do anything, and they didnt have enough wave clear and had to send 4 or 5 people vs 3 in one lane otherwise they couldnt stop the push... while we had two others take out another lane, with Zzrots in the 3rd pretty much.
Kills mean nothing if you can not capitalize on them.

I learned the hard way not to rely on this. One particular match up where I was Fiora going against a Darius, I fucked up and gave him the first kill. As any top lane main would tell you, the first kill decides who owns the lane from that point on. So with the lane being firmly in his control, I do the only sensible thing I could, I hung back and tried to get as much CS as he would allow me to. The idea was to out scale him since I was a Fiora. The next thing you know, my team mates start feeding. Realizing that this could be lost, I made a last ditch effort to get back into the game by trying to kill Darius. But his lead was too great and I gave him yet another kill. I spent the rest of the game desperately trying to claw my way back into the game while Darius rampaged throughout the map getting kill after kill. Knowing that Fiora outscales Darius, I tried to 1v1 him three times after getting item spikes and all three times I died. We lost the game. In hindsight I realized that despite Fiora outscaling Darius, leads matter a whole lot more. The only way I was ever going to win a 1v1 with Darius that game was if I was full build at that point. With me and my team all feeding our assess off, there was no way the game was going to last long enough for me to reach full build. That game was well over long before it actually ended.
I learned that the best way to come back is not to fall behind in the first place. Whenever I fuck up and go 0-2 or 0-3 in lane, I consider that a personal failure and I'm ready to surrender. I should not be dying multiple times in lane, when I do that, I know that I deserve to lose.
Over the preseason, before I got my current 14 ban, I've been focusing exclusively on learning how to lane better. I intend to get so good at it that feeding in lane would be a thing that happens to me once in 20 games. I'm a long way from being that good but I'm sure no Challenger player would EVER lose lane in any game below Diamond 4, so it is definitely possible to learn how to never feed in lane at my elo. Focusing on learning how to come back from a loss in my opinion is just a waste of time. Playing from behind? Bullshit.....learn how to not get behind. I think that is a much better way to approach the game.

It's quite a rare thing for a team to throw a massive lead. It's a freak occurrence. In 20 games where you and your team get stomped, you may make a come back in only one of those games.

The problem occurs that Darius and Fiora are actually very similar spikes, though in different ways. Darius has his spikes as pure damage and tankiness, Fiora is damage and mobility. Yes, between the two, if Fiora played very well then she could end up beating darius fairly easy.... but she also has a higher skill level needed than darius. Someone can pick up darius and pretty easily beat a person who just picks up fiora, however once the fiora is good she is hell for darius.
It is a pretty decent goal you have, but sometimes playing from behind could have you picking up some items you might not normally.... which then lets you have some fun niche ways of playing. For example, i like to do Relic support Neeko when i have a melee ally to transform to for example on matchups that could be a bit more pokey. It adds a bit of sustain that is quite needed, and i can use Demolish with her and be doing some pretty decent tower damage even early on for a few cheese plates faster.
I do want to point out to you same as i did to the other person.... the OP said when you are behind as ADC. Not as a team which is what you keep going to saying thaf it is impossible when the team does X.
Kills still mean near nothing if they can not get objectives off of the kills. And as someone who does beat laners in top and mid even after they get ganks and i end up dieing a few times.... it is not impossible. It is not even rare that people throw leads, especially based on team comps and how well the people work together. Yes, it could be harder, or it could be hard to get to the spike you need.... but it is certainly not as impossible as people claim.
Also, in that match my team won with 30 less kills, we only dipped under the enemy gold for a little bit. Otherwise we had more gold than them for pretty much the entire time. It has been a while since then, so i do not have video of it, but the same basic concepts apply. Farm/objectives > kills.
I gave this "playing from behind" thing a try. I just played a game where I made a mistake in lane and gave first blood to Cho'gath. From there, you can guess what happens. As expected, he owned the lane. He killed me 3 times in lane before finally taking my tower. The rest of my team was hard feeding as well. Normally, I just throw in the towel at this point. I would start calling for surrenders, while dicking around waiting for the enemy team to end. I sometimes straight up afk and go watch a YouTube video or something. I never play out stomps.
However, this time I decided to see what will or can happen if I tried, so I tried as best as I can. I was able to pick up a couple kills here and there but it didn't put a dent in their momentum. They just kept rolling over us over and over again while taking every thing in sight. I still refused to give up trying my utmost best to stall the game. It just wasn't happening. They just rolled over our base and ended the game.
As I'm writing this post, I'm going over in my head what I could have done differently. The only thing I can come up with is that first kill in lane. You see I gave Cho'Gath first blood because I made a dumb noob mistake of fighting him inside a minion wave at level 1. I had the ignite advantage because he took Teleport and due to that I over estimated what I was capable of. Cho was able to use that lead to dominate me in lane and after killing me 2 more times and taking my tower, he went bot lane and picked up two or three kills in a skirmish. Now he is insanely ahead. With his lead and the lead of the rest of his team, they just took whatever they wanted and when we tried to stop them, we just died. I tried to pick up whatever farm I could but they just wouldn't let us breathe. If I went to a lane to farm a big wave, they would just group on my team, kill them and take the nearest objective. If I grouped with my team, I die with them and they still get whatever objective they wanted. There really was no way to come back.
Now I ask myself, what would have happened if I won my lane. If I won lane. Let's say, I went 4-0 in lane then Cho wouldn't have been able to go bot and get all those kills, I'd be strong enough to actually contest objectives with my team and the lead the enemy team got would not have been so massive. It would have been possible to win that despite my team feeding. As a matter of fact, I had two such games before like that. Last game, I got fed while the rest of my team were hard feeding and after a long and grueling campaign, we managed to scratch out a victory. I went 3-0 or something vs a Tryndamere playing as Fiora. The other game was a 4v5 for the first 20 minutes. Me and the ADC won lane and despite a really rough game which looked like a loss for us, we managed to win.
I can only conclude that playing from behind should not be a thing. Leads are essential for winning most matches. It doesn't have to be your lead but someone on the team must have a lead. If no one does, then surrender is the only sensible thing. Now, I can appreciate that you have won games where you and your team are massively behind, like the one you mentioned where your team was 30 kills behind. I've won games like that here and there. But what I'm realizing is that winning games like that isn't really up to the losing team. The winning team has to make humongous mistakes to throw a game where they have a massive lead. You have to hope that they fuck up massively. It's not really in your hands at all. This is why I have a problem with playing these kinds of games. I like having agency. I have agency over whether I win or lose lane. If I play smart and use my head, I can win through my own skill. I like this approach. I do not like having to rely on some random chance occurance that the enemy team might be stupid enough to throw a 40 kill lead. Going back to the Cho'gath game, it was completely up to me whether we won or lost that game. If I chose not to play like a dumb ass and feed, I might have won the lane and perhaps even carried. But when I chose to take the risk I did and lost the lane, winning was no longer about what I do. It doesn't matter at that point what I do or don't do. The only way we win is if the enemy team gives us the game, a thing that relies on random chance.
Heres the thing. When they do have a lead like that, dont try to overextend to try and contest. That sounds like there was some poor playing on your teams part even after being behind.
If you would like to record that replay and upload it to youtube or something mobile friendly, i can take a look at it and give some ideas potentially on what you could have done possibly, and saying what could have been done better by the other allies of yours. Though you are focused on what you could have done better, admittedly some games you do have to hope the enemy slips or your allies grow this squishy thing that is called a brain.... but at that point its the same as relying on someone whos doing well in lane. You could do worse and worse but depending on their champ and experience on it, they could end up doing great.
Also, id have to say that chogath is very similar to a nasus who got stacks. He can be behind and then end up carrying the game off of very little. You would have to keep increasing how well you play against him or what worked before, probably wouldnt work later. During laning he can be behind even vs a fiora and end up out dueling her just because of sustain.
He is right, i love how you talk the entire tread like the botlaner wasn't 2 levels behind of the rest of the solo laners, if you fall behind there's no way to comeback, the only you can do its pray for your team to carry you because in a real SoloQ situation, if for example, you lose first turret and you got killed 1 time vs a hard matchup without getting 4 manned (in the best of the cases) you will be alone the rest of the game since support doesn't needs gold to farm and most of them will just play around someone other.
You can't just ''sit there and farm'' because you also need to match the enemy bot lane if they rotate to another lane (example, mid) and in almost every case outside of high elo, you probably will be sharing exp with your support and your midlaner which it makes you fall even more behind without a chance to farm, because in a realistic situation, mid laners just doesn't want or know to go bot and let you mid farm safely and if you stay bot that will still be a lose situation since someone can kill you or the unmatched botlane could destroy an enemy turret.
Bot lane is a very team reliant role and if you fall behind there's no a real way to comeback if they doesn't hard throw, cases that are very rare the more you climb. This situation just gotten worse with the fronloaded burst meta and the adc nerfs, actually a siege/artillery mage are way better than a normal adc (because they do damage from a long distance at every point of the game, even behind) that isn't lucian since lucian has a extremely good synergy and buffs with PTA and can resist enough to stay alive frontload burst of damage when he has black cleaver.
Btw i have 100% wr (3 games, i can't pick him often) as bot jax soloing 1v2 the enemy botlaners without receving so much damage. The only champion that i see that isn't support reliant after level 6 lmao.
If you are behind the only thing you do is not being a weight and try to steal kills, gold its more accesible in this season since the high damage meta, the bounties and the turret plates and farm is a bit overrated when before it was an art, just don't fall behind by learning jungle pathing, knowing how to wave control and play behind minion if theres a catcher type support or an aggro lane with doranshield/doransword depending on the matchup.

3 games, as a champion that blocks autos in one of the most auto reliant lanes and is generally known to be an annoying champion period.... play some more. Get about 20 games in. Just select bot and have jax set as your prefered and play. You will likely have at least 5 losses, but mostly the reason why you would win the matchup is because brusiers are meant to be strong vs squishies. Squishies would need to have good positioning or become a pseudo brusier to match.... which they would not understand jax because they never lane against jax. It would be like me taking Mordekaiser top again. I would likely win lane just because the enemy doesnt know what all i do well enough. I often would get 9 minute towers, and still did in one of my more recent morde games be able to get a minute 9 tower (if i stayed to finish it off, which i did not because i did not know where the enemy jungler was, but it was just an ivern so i probably didnt need to worry about it anyways but hindsight 20/20).
Yes, the adc would be weaker than usual. However i have found that the good ADCs tend to take bot solo and keep an eye out for people coming for them. If done right, then they catch up and can prove very useful still. There was actually a worlds inwhich the Sivir was behind and then was able to catch up and ended up carrying the rest of the game. So people saying it is impossible are very wrong. It is a bit rough like i said, as it should be, but if you play it right it isnt as hard as people are trying to make it out to seem.
You say it, WORLDS, competitive games are by far much more different than normal SoloQ, if you go solo bot after losing turret in soloQ you will end farming only 2 minion waves if you push normally until somo random high burst and resist champion comes to kill you and people in soloQ pushes sidelanes less often than they do with midlane, the only reason to go for a normal player to go to push a sidelane is because there's a fresh champion to kill him, with the movement speed right now in the game a wave at the middle of a sidelane is just a bait to get someone to kill you, if you slowpush the wave it ends being a bit contraproducent since everytime theres someone skirmishing 2v2 or 3v3 and it's easier to get gold from kills right now than from slowpushing and creating big waves even if it's a 50-50 loss reward situtation at least in low diamond-low plat, i think it would be worse in lower elos. Maybe isn't impossible if you want to put it like that, but it is pretty unworthy or doesn't deserve the effort compared to pick Lucian and go skirmishing with others until you are ahead enough to try to shotcall objectives

That is just one of the publicized examples. There are many more that happen all throughout the day that are not recorded because not everyone wants to be spending all their time doing videos, or that do not want to be streaming, or maybe they are streaming but they are not popular so everyone disregards them entirely.
Ive won games that we played out that everyone wanted to quit, ive lost games that should have been assured wins. All in all, there is only 1 assured 100% loss. Everything else has variables inwhich could mean the difference between winning or losing, but surrendering is 100% loss and the fact that people cant get that through their head, yet they spam surrender vote at minute 5 if they could and then are SHOCKED that they have a losing streak is beyond me.
I do not play to have assured losses. I play to play. Doesnt matter what elo you are, it is stupid as all get out to be surrendering as much as everyone does. I will not, and never will condone surrendering just because you want to surrender. Too many games that EASILY could have been won have been lost because people "just want the game done and over with" so they surrender and give up. Guess what? Surrendering is giving up. Giving up is reportable. Maybe i should start reporting people who start spamming surrender even when nobody else wants to surrender?
Yes, all those people who complain about people like me who never surrender and wants to report us, hasnt figured out that spamming surrender vote is actually reportable because it is a form of giving up. I personally choose not to utilize it like that, but im getting to the point that i really am tempted to.
can you define catching up? since i really don't understand your question
Try to catch as many waves as you can, if you're able to you should run from mid to bot to get the waves there, in that way you will eventually catch up and get fed off of CS. You can also do krugs when your jungler is not around. Hope that helps :)
That really depends. Mostly it is just farm on away and try to be as safe as possible. Sometimes it means just soaking up experience while trying to get some cs in a group vs the enemy to make sure they do not take towers etc.
What some people do not realize is that about 2-3 waves of minions (about 12-18) is the same as a kill on a non gold reduced enemy. So while kills are nice, it is not all important unless you are absolutely steamrolling them inwhich even then the minion waves would be worth more gold than them.... which then objectives and map pressure is more important.
Keep in mind, that the general rule of thumb about objectives is simple..... nexus > inhib > inhib tower > baron/herald ONLY if it is safe enough > dragon > other towers... and kills ONLY if you can do it safely or unless they impeed on getting the objectives. If they have a strong waveclear (for example Ziggs or Neeko or Lissandra or Anivia) with the enemy team... you will not be hitting their tower much if you stay grouped. 1 person will NEED to be splitting if your team can hold their own 4v5 or 4v4. That is where wave management of the other lanes is vital.
Also, if you are new to adc, i HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest taking this advice no matter how boring you might think it is....
Take a champ you plan on playing and learning. Go to a custom game. Go to bottom lane with no items. Last hit minions for 10 minutes without using abilities. 100 cs is the goal, but if i remember right then the perfect cs would be about 120? Or so.
This honestly should be a training mode along with a harder difficulty being with minions spawning for your side but that disappear once 1 minion leaves turret range and having that continue until 10 minions so that you can practice last hitting under tower as well.
Learning how to last hit minions helps GREATLY when you are behind because then you are focused on what health the enemy minions are. It gets a bit funky when you have a support helping you shove the lane.... but you can generally pick up on it pretty decently once you have the basics.
If you're behind as an ADC, it kind of depends on your elo. At higher elos, you would collect waves and farm wherever you could. Low elo, you dont really catch up unless the fed top/mid actually group with your team and stall so that you can free farm side lanes.
