This game is less about skill and more about which champion you take.

I've been playing this game for about two months now and I come to the conclusion that this game is less about skill and more about what champion you take. I out maneuvered and ran circles around an Aatrox with Wukong but it didn't matter. All he had to do was hit like 1 out of every 3 attacks and I was dead. If I missed one attack I would fall behind. I was steadily taking him to no health which again didn't matter because he just resurrected. Got to the point he just chased me under tower and killed me and rezzed and ran away. That is unbalanced and not about skill but about one champions abilities being over powered. What are my options? Stand under tower and wait for him to get his ult and just charge in again and battle me until I escape or he kills me under tower because he has the AOE advantage or if I do kill him he once again just rezzes and runs away? His one single power "Q" is all he needed to kill me, If he got close to dying his Ultimate would just make him Invulnerable or rez him if he did die. He didn't even use his taunt/pull on me.

I'm not going to even mention countless matches where some no skill player takes Master Yi, Akali or one of the other one button wonders and just rolls over the other players. Skill should always be the deciding factor in a game not the champion. In this game it seems that people accept standing under a tower and letting the other guy roll over everyone as part of skill. That's absurd.

I still think League of Legends is fun and I enjoy it but the amount of frustration from actually using basic Moba tactics to have some guy come in who can just bull rushes you and wins is not fun. I hated HotS but it still allowed you escape under a tower because of the wall so you didn't have heroes able to bull rush. The only game that's even remotely balanced where a more skilled player can take down a more powerful champion with a less skilled player is Vainglory. This game it doesn't happen 80% of the time because the champion is more important than the skill.

If I take Zed, Lee Sin or Xin Zao I can rack up 30+ kills in a match. I just stay away from characters that counter my champion and roll over the others. It's not fun because in the end even if they are better players they are just countered and dead because I have the better champ. Maybe I'll see this change as I get to a higher skill level in the game. I know I'm not the only one because you see in chat all the time someone saying something about being out picked and then some other guy responds, don't feed them stay under tower! That sounds like a ton of fun, sit under the tower the entire match and wait for it to end as the other four heroes carry you to victory!

what you just describes is called being countered by a champion.

in those cases you lose via stat check tbh.

also wukong doesnt take as much skill as you would think. aatrox and akali takes more skill actually.

He's just saying that attrox has a really stacked Kit. which happens with most character that riot has released recently. He has just a lot of stats built into his abilities and plus hey no mana so his ability spam is just annoying

Picking the right champion (as well as getting runes and items that're right for the situation, objective control, etc) IS skill. It's strategic/tactical skill, not dexterity-related skill, but it definitely IS skill.

Hey i pick first and i only play one champion in lol let me use my skill to auto lose because my best counter champion's are meta and can 1v5 every game. sure sounds like skill.

You're still pretty new at this game, I don't think you're really experienced enough to say when you lost because of champion imbalance. Looking at your match history, you still need a lot of practice, and I'd recommend playing easier champions while you learn the basics, or at the very least focusing on just 1 champion for now.

I Understand Completely what you're talking about. but also look at it like this, a part of the skill is player knowledge things like knowing who will counter what champion. it helps those of us who might have more difficulty out reacting our opponents and helps outsmart them. only kinda issue with this is the game mode. if I play blind I cant outsmart my opponent with a pick so I end up in your situation. or I might pick first in draft and know the can just counter pick me. Also, I feel like Hots has some major balancing issues on characters of their own and can make games just as frustrating (I mean imagine a low/new player going against a butcher they are screwd) I agree that league Has a lot champion balancing issues In their defense they have like over 140 champs and balance can get hard.
