Point of Constant Movement Clicking?

Schmooie··1 votes·1,558 views

In YouTube gameplay footage I've seen, people seem to constantly click to move there character(Like nonstop in the same area). What is the point of this? I understand you don't wanna be predictable but is it really necessary to move that much?

Necessary? No.

A good way to vent tension in a ranked game, in a high tension moment like lvl 1 trading and what not? Oh yes. :P

yep, good way to keep your mechanics up too, or just to wear down your right mouse button :P

Right mouse button that usually have a warranty of a few millions clicks.

yep, should last a game or two, right? :P

Yeah... in a 84 minutes game (which can be considered long by today's standards), with a constant 3 clicks per seconds including the time you're dead, that's 15k clicks. It would take 66 games like that per million clicks. Also, I semi pulled that number out of my ass, I know that keyboards keys are made to resist 1 million presses, it could very well be more for mice.

no, I'm pretty sure I've heard that number too, a few million is pretty typical. I wonder if I should start looking to replace my mouse though....wait till it stops working, or buy a back up mouse?

Keep in mind that cyclic stress is also dependent on the force being applied (how hard you click) as well as where it's being applied. When a company tests for a "rated for X clicks" they literally use a machine that clicks under very controlled circumstances and they (usually) take the lowest number to avoid liability.

In other words, don't worry, you're mouse is probably fine. You'll notice something before it starts going. XD

my left mouse button is slightly firmer than my right mouse button, I think a lot of it has to do with LoL. I just posted a thread asking for gaming mouse recommendations; I'd really rather not break this one, I quite like it :P

I'm just impatient.

I barely move most of the time. I'm more reactive and move based on where the enemy laner goes. My hands get tired quick lol

I really don't know why... But I totally do that. I think it might be partly because I used to not know that you can just hold the right mouse button to make your champion follow your mouse, so I spamclicked instead... By now, it's habit.
