26-4 WIN-LOSE RATIO, DIAMOND PLACED IN SILVER 1. WHAT'S GOING ON?!?

Wïldturtl··7 votes·1,601 views

I'm a diamond player, just played 10 placement matches on my other account (Plat). I went 8-2 and got placed in Silver 1. My current Win/Lose ratio is 26-4. Now I'm in silver playing vs Plat MMR which makes it harder to climb. Why am I placed in Silver 1 when my MMR is higher? Is this a joke? Atleast let me play against silvers so I don't have to try as hard. Don't get me wrong. I can climb back in no time, yes, but it's annoying to spend so much time just to get back to where you belong. I can understand the frustration of so many players, they will not have a great time trying really hard to get back to their true rank.

Is this intended? Can we have an official statement? Thanks.

Well, you are playing current season silvers. They just happen to be s5 plats.

The s5 silvers all dropped into bronze 3/4 while the bronzes all dropped to bronze 5 0 LP.

correct which means you are practically platinum in season 6 terms I was diamond and see everyone getting placed into gold. Great fucking game huh? lmao. Riots always gotta fuck the good shit up.

Nope, if you were s5 silver, you are the equivalent of s6 bronze 3/4. The system works: silvers are still far away from plats no matter if there's a reset or not.

I know that, but since your MMR keeps rising if you win games, once I'm in gold i'll have to play diamonds to get to plat? This is intended? Alright then.

pretty much but since the diamonds also dropped, they'll also be gold in current MMR.

Somewhere in high gold low plat generally speaking. Yep. Only Master and Challenger players got to seed in at high plat levels. Meaning only about 2200 people total on any given ladder.

Seems pretty flawed to me. If I start on a fresh account I'll have a way easier time to get to my true rank since I'll be skipping divisions left and right and I'll be playing vs people that are actually silver and not plats. Riot dun goofed

I believe if you start up a new account right now you'll still be playing against people whose nominal MMR is 1200 which means golds and plats.

If you were platinum, you get placed in silver 1 or gold 5 if your'e lucky.

It's what happened to me and a lot of other plat players I've been playing with.

I guess with all the challenger players in high plat we just get thrusted further down the drain.

Gold seems to have dropped to low silver/high bronze. It's a pretty big mess right now.

Winning games gives you LP. Winning more games gives you more LP. However, how much LP you gain when you win is determined by your mmr compared to the average mmr for your current division. Your mmr should stabilize at whatever it was before fairly quickly. Once it does, assuming you're paired against opponents of equal skill, you should have a roughly 50-50 win/loss record, BUT, you'll gain a lot more LP than you lose until you're at a division that matches your mmr.

"But Goose, doesn't that mean that the rank/division system is a facade that is just covering up what's really going on in some frustrating and counter-intuitive ways?"

Yes.

Long story short: It's this years annual Riot screw-over.

I was silver 2 last season, went 5-5 and got placed in bronze 2. riot's mmr system is fucked up thanks to their new dynamic que and instead of fixing it, they grow silent on the matter.
