ELO Hell can't be real.

So I decided to grow a pair and earn myself a ranking on league. This is the first time I've tried ranked, having started playing league in Season 3. So after going 3 - 7 in my promotions, I'm greeted with this screen here.

I was really surprised to be seeded into Silver 5 after hearing all the horror stories about ranked. The feeders, the flamers, the trolls, etc. making it impossible to escape bronze. And yet, I was placed in Silver. I'm in no way a great player. I don't pay attention to my map much, I'm pretty bad at CSin and can make some really poor decisions, but I was able to narrowly escape "ELO Hell".

If I'm able to get that shiny silver border, you can too!

Silver is still elo hell.

New players generally get placed higher than where they actually wind up (and subsequently fall), but you aren't new.

Elo hell is wherever youre stuck (and it doesnt exist) the people who complain about elo hell, dont have the skill to "escape" so they don't, and then complain about it.

There is no such thing as ELO hell. If you take a Gold player and put him in Bronze, they'll win 2/3 or more.

my first placements when they changed the ranked system to this one a couple years ago placed me in silver 1. this is because youre basically just average around that rating.

silver is still elo hell. and everyone mid silver and below literally gets a medal for sucking at this game.

though according to what ive picked up over the years, people will tell you elo hell doesnt end until somewhere around d3. kek.

i consider expression elo hell less of a place were youre stuck, but more where youre struggling with your faith in humanity.
