Viktor Attack Animation

Riot,

So I've been trying out the Viktor update and I am really liking a lot of the new changes. I used to play Viktor a lot during season 2, well over 100 games with him. However I do have a minor compliant that I really wish you would look into changing back to how it used to be and that is his attack animation. Before he used to point his staff forward slightly and then bring it back towards him. I don't know what about it but it just made his autos seem like there was some oomph behind them. I don't know exactly what it was but it just felt right. His new attack though he just points it his staff forward and it just seems to be very bland to me. Just doesn't feel like there is anything to it. It doesn't seem very smooth to me either. To me this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=_xzVmnnOpxw#t=35 , just looks and feels so much better then this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UUABL3iLvEC6XRRz3y8w1fOg&feature=player_detailpage&v=KfpEgVzAqvI#t=58 . The animation for it seems kind of shoddy to me. Anyhow just my thoughts hopefully this gets seen and get some feed back

His AA does seem very sudden.

Right? It just doesn't look complete like it cuts out part of what it should be doing

His new animation is so so so much better than his old animation. If you changed it back the champion would be entirely unplayable.

There are many more legitimate complains to be had about the changes

I know it is more responsive and such, but it just doesn't feel right anymore to me, and it seems like it's missing part of it. Like the animation was just cut. He goes from pointing to attack to being right next to him again, without any real return animation. And it's not just the big things that make a champion real good, it's little things that also affect a champion.

I actually had the opposite reaction to it. The backwards swing portion never made any sense thematically to me, especially since that was contained on the front end of the animation (I.E. it happened before the projectile was created)

Huh interesting cause I always felt like he was charging up his staff to fire the auto attack and the backwards part made it look like it had recoil like there was some power to it. I mean the new attack does have some robotic feel to it which makes sense and i do really love the powered up attack following his Q.

Viktor has one of the best basic attack animations, especially for mages

Had, the new attack does not look well animated.

I have played both Viktor on release and after his 4.17 gameplay update- both his basic attacks and enhanced basic attack when you Q are very nice and fluid

How often did you play him? And I agree that his enhanced attack is very nice I like that one a lot, and his new attack is pretty responsive but i don't think the basic attack looks very fluid.

Some QoL buffs I do want from Viktor are a slightly larger cast range for his laser despite there being no cast animation which is really nice I feel the ability could use a 600 unit cast range from 540 units- And his gravity field's cast range could go up 50 more units

I think those buffs would push him into OP range, which I think he is already getting close to.

I think his AA is massively improved in the sense that it is MUCH quicker and more responsive, it makes last hitting easier, and it's quicker to get your Q-AA proc off. However, I do agree, the previous aa animation isn't as nice in my opinion.

The feel of both basic attacks are both fluid- the animation changed but i don't think anything actually changed between the AAs

as far as damage goes his Q definitely got buffed im pretty sure it had a 55%AP ratio now it has a 70%- and augment E has is like 340+98%AP and something he struggled before was his waveclear, now he can effectively one-shot a minion wave which i deem as a very valuable trait for mages to have

Actually "Basic attack frames sped up" under general in "The Truer Evolution 3rd", it's understandable to not have been able to tell if you didn't play him a ton previously.

His Q had a 65% ratio, and a higher base damage (until level 15, since it is now based on level, not Q-level) although if you count Viktor's aa damage that is added to the Q-AA then it is much sooner that the bases even out.
