Severe Difference between frames and ping

Today after the new patch I played several games where my frames per second were unbearable. I had around 70 ping which is really good, yet I dropped below 10 frames per sec consistently through out all parts of the game. In team fights I dropped below 5 frames, and in late game team fights I had one frame for several seconds, basically making the game unplayable. I don't think I changed my computer settings, and the only thing that recently occurred was the Yorick patch. So for now I am blaming the patch for my dropped frames.
