As a support main. Why must everyone harass the support?

It's really not fun to play in a game where people are toxic and yell at you for doing nothing wrong. It almost makes me want to change to a different role.

I feel like jungler actually gets blamed more than support. For any player prone to rage at their teammates if they are adc they'll blame their support but if their top or mid it's the jungler they see as guilty.

In either case, we're talking about the two roles that involve the greatest understanding of the game as a whole and subtlest impact. Many players don't even realize when your cc, vision, or buffs turn a teamfight and get them kills.* All they realize is their kda is totally awesome and their totally carrying dude.

'* From the irl people I play with it's specifically those most prone to rage who are least likely to realize the only reason they got 3 kills in 6 minutes is because of my harass and cc. If game goes well they think their the only one's doing anything (I mean that janna is 0/2, she sucks) and if game goes badly, well their good enough to carry so it must be the fault of the support or jungler.

edit: In any case make sure you have a think skin if you're going to delve into jungle or support. You will need it.

All that said I have found that being (sickeningly) positive can help. Basically, as support it's not just your job help the team physically, it's your job to help emotionally as well. Someone get a kill or take an objective? Throw out a quick "gj" or "nice." Someone die or lose their turret? "It's fine, it happens to everyone sometimes" or some such. Basically try to keep things as far from toxic as you can.

If you weren't there to blame, they'd be blaming somebody else. If you did your job and they're just being toxic, mute them and that's it. I always look back at my Match History and toxic people end up having placed no wards and died in places they had no business being in, they're just projecting their bad plays on everyone else (primarily venturing into enemy territory with zero vision and getting flanked and instagibbed. No vision where they were is why they blame supports, imo).

If it's not the support it's the jungler. I find it's usually because they can 'justify' it more by pointed a "bad" K/D like 0/3/14 or something silly like that. There's never an actual reason, just misplaced anger and lack of accountability everywhere. mute and laugh it off I say. You'll have to deal with them for a max of 50 min or so (or 20 if it's that bad) so don't let their brief exposure ruin your day. ^_^

i already have left being a support main... i stop'd supporting solo Q at the start of season 4 with all the "buffs" that were really nerfs to AP supports and stopped supporting all together when my ADC main quit playing league for a while... both the team and riot treat support mains like shit... "its your job to die so the ADC lives, spend all your money on wards and items that will keep the adc alive, do all the work and give the adc the kills" now i know thats basically what you sign up for when you decide to play support but when you get slapped in the face with it like you're someones bitch ... it leaves a bad taste in your mouth along with riots "healing is toxic", "supports should do no damage", and "since X (morg mid/bot, lulu top/mid, sona mid season 3 anyone?, ect) champion is OP in top/mid lane (read as "a lane they weren't originally designed for") but is actually a support/mid laner/top laner (or vice versa) we're nerfing them into the ground" <--- but that logic doesnt apply to ritos favorites like Vi (i love Vi don't get me wrong but she fits the description) who was suppose to be a top laner who is now a kick ass jungler or (i believe) lee sin was a top laner an is still an OP jungler but w/e you who've read my rant get the idea :|

It's a double edged sword. Yes it's a pain in the butt when you have a carry who can't admit they suck and blames you, but a lot of errors as support are the very much non-obvious kind.

In lane, almost everything is the supports job. That's always kind of been the point-historically, the champs with the weakest early games have always been placed with supports who protect them so they can farm, either carries or tanks. So you may not think you're doing anything wrong hanging back in a bush but really you're making your Carry's job incredibly difficult. You have to learn to recognize when a criticism is legitimate. As a support main myself, way too many people have gone into all chat and gone "ugh my carry always blaming the support" when I look at them and just go "dude you are the reason you lost lane"

This is what i heard from my diamond 1 friend, supports need to know everything about the game. They become good when they hit high plat and understand how most champions play and how to interact with. Low elo supports just focus on the laning phase and warding aspect of support. Supports need to ping the shit out of objectives, communicate, and make sure no one is doing stupid. This isn't present in low elo, and thats why people regard supports as useless.

dear diary......

Please stop with these kinds of posts. At least try and phrase in a actual topic.
