With the game being so team oriented I find it really weird that it decides your ranking solely on if you win or lose matches...
I mean yeah, if you play enough games and you are good, you will eventually move up... But the "eventually" could be 10 games or 100 games depending on your luck during promos. It really doesn't feel right when you have earned your 100 lp and then you get 2 bad matches and you are heavily punished and go down to like 60-75 lp. I mean really how is that an accurate measurement of your ability?
If you are extremely unlucky you could hit 100 lp and then get terrible promo games 20 times in a row, and be forever stuck in one rank when you have CLEARLY proven that you are good enough to move on. They need like a system that marks how many times you reach promos in the same division... and if you hit promos 5 times and lose each time, it should just rank you up anyway.
It's like the system knows you are good enough to move up but it just decides it all on 3-5 games.
Like you, I jumped into ranked too early and got placed at Silver 5. While I did indeed need to learn the game better, I believe I'm at the very least, worthy of Gold rank at this point.... but the struggle getting there is REAL. I would go from S4 back to S5, to S4, to S5, to S4, to S3, to S4, to S3, to S2, to S3, to S2, to S3... to S2, and now I'm S1 but because of a couple bad games, I'm on the verge of dropping back to S2, where I'll have to fight through promos to get back to where I'm CURRENTLY AT.
It's really silly.
I'm winning lane against G5's and G4's yet I'm stuck in Silver because of some bad luck games.
I mean really it's not like placement matches are super great either... since they just base your placement off 10 games... They really just need to do away with promos because they don't really even make sense. It's like a weird grind. I'd rather like... win a match and get to G5 and then if I lose a match I go back to S1... and if I win like 6 matches I'm G4.
