Expanded Mind is awful (+5% max mana mastery)

On Ryze, the champion it should work best on, putting points into the level scaling / flat AP portion of the offense tree gives you better damage at every point in the game. I ran the math, that's a fact. Stop running Expanded Mind, find a point you can spare, and put the points into Arcane Mastery. Your early damage will be better and your late damage will be roughly the same (but still better unless you build a mana item besides RoA/Seraphs/Frozen Heart).

If you actually need that 5% mana on Ryze to save you from running oom, I don't know what to tell you besides stop staying in lane for 40 minutes at a time. If you trim it to 39 minutes, that's good enough.

Math here: Ryze@18 with RoA / Seraphs / Frozen Heart / Mana Glyphs: 3391 mana Expanded Mind == 5%*3391==169.55 mana Seraphs AP: 3%*169.55==5.0865

QRQWQEQ AP ratio: 3.95 Expanded Mind AP damage: 20 damage Arcane Mastery tree damage: 22*3.95=86.9 damage

QRQWQEQ Mana ratio: 35.5% Expanded Mind mana damage: .355*169.55==60.2 damage

20+60.2=80.2

Arcane Mastery tree total damage: 86.9 Expanded Mind mastery total damage: 80.2

Ryze@6 with Catalyst / Tear@200 stacks / Mana Glyphs: 1381 mana Expanded Mind mana: 69

QRQWQEQ Mana ratio: 35.5% Expanded Mind mana damage: 24.5

QRQWQEQ AP ratio: 3.95 Arcane Mastery Tree damage: 65.8

Arcane Mastery Tree damage: 65.8 Expanded Mind damage: 24.5

I rest my case.

I don't know why they keep throwing this mastery in here. Ryze and Singed are really the only "mana" champs that could actually use it, and the 5% isn't worth going that far down Utility for it. And Supports aren't going to take it because it's not worth it at all. Supports tend not to build Mana items anyways.
