Why Fiora NEEDS to be Nerfed

Despite the massive amount of dislike towards the somewhat recent Fiora rework, I decided I would venture into the world of the magical and unknown. No, I didn't play Bard for the first time. After playing Fiora without any guides or previous experience with the rework, I was finding a great deal of success with her once I understood the potential of her kit. Fiora's kit is unsuspectingly strong, but when you look into her AD scaling true damage, a riposte which can block every form of damage and crowd control in the game, and an ability which gives a stronger heal than a Janna ultimate, it becomes obvious as to how strong this new rework can actually be; however, because of this immense amount of strength in her kit, I feel that she needs to be weakened so that she does not have so much damage and versatility.

To begin, Fiora's passive, "Duelist's Dance", is very effective in both the early and later parts in the game. In lane, her passive in combination with her lunge is a very mana efficient yet effective method of poking down the enemy health bar. Along with this, the AD scaling true damage is still very strong in late game because it can be used to shred both tanks and carries health bars. This allows Fiora to absolutely destroy her opponents throughout all stages of the game. This ability to have both a huge impact in both the early and late stages of the game creates a nearly unstoppable duelist which can't be shut down in most stages of the game.

Furthermore, Fiora's riposte is simply overpowered in ways. Throughout my experience playing both as and against Fiora, I have seen many unbelievable examples of ripostes that just seem like they should not work. One example of this was when I was playing mid lane Fiora against a Karthus. After dueling him with only a quarter of my hp bar and only 1 level up on him, he began channeling his ult in his passive when I was under my tower. Some quick thinking and good timing saved my life, as I was able to negate all the damage just by using my riposte when I was going to receive the damage. Along with this, I have seen examples of Fiora players negating a Malphite ultimate and not only negating the knock up and damage, but also returning it to him and stunning him. If you take into account the fact that this riposte can block all crowd control and damage in the game, it becomes obvious as to why Fiora's kit needs to be nerfed.

Lastly, Fiora's ultimate, "Grand Challenge", is very strong for dueling because of it's damage output and the massive heal that comes with it. This ability applies four vital spots on the marked champion. Upon hitting all four sides, Fiora's passive deals AD scaling true damage four times and also is refunded health due to her passive for each vital hit. Upon hitting all these four sides or killing a marked enemy after hitting one side, a Janna ultimate on steroids appears, healing all allies inside of it. This provides both an insane amount of damage and sustain through all the heals that she endures through her ult. This allows Fiora to fight multiple enemies with ease, which also gives her the ability to split push really easily. The amount of damage, sustain, and overall dueling potential with this ability is yet another reason as to why Fiora needs to be weakened.

Overall, through Fiora's scaling true damage, massive sustain, and insane versatility with her riposte, she is way too strong, especially if one takes the time to master her kit. This results in way too much dueling potential and overall versatility, which is why Fiora should be weakened so that she is not so versatile along with having immense dueling potential. Along with this, her strength is displayed throughout all stages of the game, so there is no point in which it will be easy to shut down a Fiora. All these factors of her kit make Fiora way too strong of a duelist with high versatility and minimal counter play, ultimately displaying as to why she should be nerfed.

Didn't bother reading, downvoted and moving on.

She needs a more reliable ult. I would want that even if it means lower damage on other parts of her kit. Right now she's not great unless she's in small fights.

You fail the most basic rule of discussing champion balance. You can't just list a champions kit out and say they need a nerf. One obvious reason for this is that your argument wouldn't say anything different whether all her moves did 100000 dmg on a .1 second cooldown or 1 damage on a 3 minute cooldown.

If her numbers are not currently balanced then fine, argue that using examples and calculations and maybe someone could agree that they can be adjusted.

As it is, all you have stated is that you don't like her design in general.

"She shouldn't be so versatile" - Riot has made it very clear that they don't want to make champs who are only 1 dimensional anymore. Old fiora was a glass cannon that went in and did damage and then died either a hero or a feeder with nothing else in between and no real interaction with her opponants. She was oppressive when ahead and worthless when behind.

New fiora has the ability to duel anyone if she can manage the vitals minigame better then the enemy she's dueling, has riposte (on a 20 second cooldown) which allows her to not instantly die to obviously telegraphed cc and burst so she can afford to build damage items, and has a heal on her ultimate so that she can be useful to a team even if she falls behind in gold.

In exchange, she doesn't scale well with attack speed or crit at all and therefor those stats won't be bought - making her shitty at pushing down towers compared to other ad glass cannons, her ability to duel someone is dependent on a skill interaction between her and her opponent which means it's not enough to just hit her buttons on someone to get her damage, there's outplay potential in literally her entire kit, her parry ability is on a long cooldown and roots her while in use so if she whiffs it shes a sitting duck, she has no innate waveclear so she gets pushed to tower easy in lane until she can buy a tiamat, her angle of attack is telegraphed to the enemy by the direction the vital is facing (she doesn't get vitals while hiding in a bush either so she can't even ambush someone very well), all of her damage is over time and relies on melee auto attacks which means she'll die to any burst champion who manages to bait out her parry, etc.

If you want to talk numbers or specific situations where you think she should be weaker in exchange for being stronger in other situations, I'm all ears. But just listing what her kit does and saying 'therefor she needs nerf' is just weak and can't be taken seriously.

Let me just throw this out here her ult is unreliable if you think you are going to get all 4 vitals or kill that target well being focused by 5 guys you are sadly mistaken I don't care if you are faker you won't get that heal if the person knows how to buy qss.

I find it pretty easy to trigger. And really? Someone's gonna waste QSS on a non crowd control mark? Alright then Cues all the suppressions and stuns from the rest of Fiora's team

It means that she can't splitpush against any equally strong duelist, or even try to stop them from splitpushing, because if they opt to buy a qss she'll essentially never have an ult to fight them with It probably also means that a support can mikhaels it off of a carry.

Does QSS negate her ult? Generally her ult is pretty deniable unless she uses it mid to late fight on someone already really low and only takes 1-2 vital points to finish off.

Three words: Stop knee-jerking.

In all honesty her ult needs a mechanic to where hitting vitals resets your q, in team fights it almost impossible to get it off unless you ult someone near death.

damage and versatility is suppsoed to be her entire thing. shes a carry. shes squishy in melee. so she is versatile to offset the fact that she easily blows up when she makes a mistake.

yes, her potential is gigantic, if youre practised on her. thats whats fun about her.

As a plat former Fiora main I can tell you she is way worse than the old Fiora. Any champ with even midiocre burst will destroy you before you can even think about the 3rd vital. Her 42% win rate is proof.
