Tackling down item abuse

Any character that is not meant for jungling should not be able to obtain jungle items. For instance, Braum having cinderhulk because it becomes quite ridiculous. Does it make sense for support role to have that kind of item. Are we going to be seeing nami, bard, sona, or soraka jungling. My suggestion is that when a role that is Not a Jungler then they should not be able to use it.

At the price of having a far less useful summoner spell than they could otherwise take I think this is fair. Non-supports can sacrifice an item slot in order to get a support item, why can't someone sacrifice a spell to do the same?

Oh yeah so people can keep buying cinderhulk as a support. You know that is a +25% health bonus.

+25% health for no exhaust or ignite? Seems like a fair trade, given the impact those two spells make.

Without that summoner spell the only thing you'll be exhausting is your adc's patience

Okay, please give me a list of all characters not meant for jungling so RIOT can get right on that.

Let me know why and adc or support, need smite. Do you want to see lucian jungling or a support.

If a champion can manage to jungle, then let them jungle.

What's the problem with that?

It's when they use it to lane that it becomes a problem, and Riot's always dealt with that so far.

That kind of philosophy counters creativity.

I say let them buy whatever they want.

The game would be less interesting and more static than it already is if such restrictions were applied.

So your saying that supports can have the +25 percent health bonus on top of the flame damage.

If they can live with the lack of a summoner support most of early game...

kJs2 votes

Yeah. Sure. If it's deemed too OP or too strong by the players or by Riot's balancing team then it's Riot's job to nerf.

Champion-specific item disables is generally a big no no.

Why would an adc or support need smite give me a reason.

kJs1 votes

Easier and quicker Dragon or Baron Nashor Kills.

No one does it because it's not as good as summoner 7 on the ADC, summoner 3 on the support or summoner 14 as well trading an item slot for an inferior item just to maximise summoner 11's use.

Asides from what KJS said, blue/red smite is still decent as a replacement for when you are getting a jungle item. It's not as good as a dedicated spell but it works.

item 3709 item 3751 item 3717Braum

Nautilus can both support and jungle. Fiddlesticks can be played support and jungle. Kaylecan be played support and jungle. Nunu can be played support and jungle. Maokai can be played support and jungle. Gragas can be played support and jungle. Twitch can be played ADC and jungle.

Seeing a pattern? Many champions can play multiple roles.

If you and your team can't take advantage of the enemy laner lacking a critical summoner spell, then you have bigger issues.
