Hello, how would you rank enchanter supports and when should i pick what? im also trying to narrow my champ pool so id like to know if some of them serve the same purpose and are picked in the same situation :)

Enchanter supports or supportive mages are characters that enhance their team mates abilities.

The ones you will find in lol are: Nami Janna Lulu Morgana Sona Karma Oriana.

And to some lesser extent: Braum Lux Leona Jarvan and Zillean.

What type of enchanter you want to play depends on which one you are more comfortable with. Nami and karma are strong picks that will help your adc get out of landing phase. Sona has solo carry potential with good team fighting, adc protection and high dmg. Janna is an all arounder that focuses on disengage (so, she isn't to good with vayne or Lucian for example).

Lulu and Morgana excel when your adc is competent. And even more when they are a hyper carry.

As an assassin player, I generally don't like when Sona or Janna is constantly traveling with their adc, because I have a very low chance of killing that adc.

So, I suggest something like Nami Lulu Jana if you are looking to main enchanterers bot lane.

You're free to do so. doesn't change that Braum let's your allies stun. And Leona makes her allies deal more dmg. And Jarvan increases attack speed. Maybe the new nunu does something like this too, but I got no clue how he works.

How so they are enchanters? They are not enhancing allies, they just assisting you.

Shields, heals, damage enhancements e.g AA, etc are the Enchanters.

They are enhancing your damage (Leona), autoattacks (Braum), attack speed (j4)

But I classified them to an lower extent as enchanters since while they do enhance their team's, their primary role is different (engage for j4 and Leona) and pedaling via cc and ranking(Braum).

I didn't rank pure healing as enchanter ability which is why Soraka or Alistair aren't on the list.

Nunu is in that mix too - despite his rework, his new passive somewhat enhances teammates. As for saying ZIlean is lesser, that ignores his extra XP, ultimate and interactions with Aery/Guardian. Nidalee and Karma are also lesser enchanters. And J4 shouldn't even be in that group.

If I counted runes, then anyone could take guardian and be an enchanter. it's a reason I didn't.

But if you feel differently fair enough. My list ain't perfect. But it's ok as a roadmap/starting point. And that's all I aimed at a 5-10 mins post from my phone 😊
