Have you tried to play without sound ?

My headphones were going low on batteries. I was losing the game hard. Removed my headphones. I played like 30 minutes like that and won this. I repeated this last game. My observations:

  • No more "An ally has been slain". No more hate, no more tilt.
  • Usually, the sound effects are made for players to better understand what's going on. Without it, I had to be more visually focused. Second effect, more attention is given to the gameplay only, without distraction and chaos of the sounds.
  • I noticed that my map awareness was a lot increased. Like if I was trying to compensate the lack of sound notifications.

Overall, that was interesting. I think I'll play my placement matches without sound now :p

What do you think ?

I do it all the time. I only play with sound on around 50% of the time. Doesn't bother me.

I think you should avoid playing DrMundo. Sound effect is the only thing that tells you if your Q hits something on the fog of war. Technically you could see HP refund but is not visually big enough for you to really notice unless you play zoom in.

i play with sound off all the time mainly because if i dont i start lagging its really fuking annoying

but i am 100% used to it now

and it does help a lot with map awareness and you do have to be more visually focused instead of relying on the sound effect of a spell to dodge it or anything similar to that kind of stuff
