Vote disband in champion select

Too frequent are the trolls in normal games and even in ranked games, the players that instalock, or say they will int feed if someone doesn't dodge, i only dodge when there are trolls in champ select and when i do i have to wait 30 mins now -.- can you implement a system in which you can vote to disband in champion select so this doesnt happen?

Nah bad idea...you could literally just do this any time the enemy team comp looked better and queues times would be even worse..

Naturally some penalty would be involved.

Then why not just dodge at that point.

Because the penalty would be smaller.

Say your team has a troll/can't get it's shit together, and everyone is aware that they don't want to enter a game, as things currently stand one guy just has to take the bullet for everyone, the suggestion would be instead if a vote of(4/5?) passes, the penalty is split amongst the entire team(possibly the enemy team getting a minor reward too? say -1 lp for the disbanding team+5 min que ban and the other team gets +1 lp each) instead of just one guy getting -3lp+30 min ban.

Also maybe give an option to say "this guy is trolling hence we disband", giving an option to report in champ select for disbanding teams.(or not, whatever)

tl;dr so that one guy wouldn't have to take one for the rest, but give the option to split the burden.

Might be useful after this 4-man premade nonsense goes away "PICK SUPPORT EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE MID OR WE WILL DISBAND & REPORT", but people will also do it to punish ppl who pick off meta champs. At one point Annie/Morg/Brand/Fiddle support were all troll picks and you were reported for playing them - if this existed, those players would be auto-punished even though they didn't do anything wrong.

I think people are overestimating abuse potential, as always.

Might be useful after this 4-man premade nonsense goes away "PICK SUPPORT EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE MID OR WE WILL DISBAND & REPORT",

Reports from premades are already counted differently, It's not just that, as things are they can say "go support even though you're mid" and then report you if you don't, just without disbanding, as far as the penalty inflicted by the disband, they all get it too, and there are 4 of them, so they screw themselves x4 as hard. So this doesn't create the problem of the famed 4 man, it still remains a problem naturally, but it doesn't make it worse.

Again, as things stand, they can still report you for these picks in the usual circumstances(when the game is over). Mind you I kinda wonder what you intend to pick which will cause 4/4 of your teammates to rather take the penalty than play the game with that pick.

Anyway: This doesn't solve all problems, though it helps with some, but it doesn't really create or exacerbate problems either, so it seems like a decent idea.

I'll give an example - I personally really enjoy playing AD LeBlanc top. I know it's not seen as the best pick for the role, but its by far my most played champion, and I almost always contribute a lot to the game. I see it similar to Quinn or Teemo with higher mobility and more utility. However, I get a lot of hate in pregame and the early parts of the game, especially if the enemy gets a lead.

If this idea is implemented, every time I want to play AD LB, I'll get marked as 'trolling', and I won't even get a chance to start the game and show I'm not.

Gosh Darn3 votes

Which means you do something to prevent it from being abused, rather than just completely abandoning the idea. There are a number of ways to prevent abuse.

  1. You can only be involved in X amount of disbands. Let's say 1 per 5 games. It could be on an "ammo" system, like up to 3 disbands in waiting and 1 regenerates every 5 games or something like that.

  2. Disbands could be reviewed. Disbanding for no reason would result in a temporary freeze on your ability to vote or propose disbanding.

  3. Disbands could use a separate penalty system from dodging. This way you could get locked out for 5 minutes for disbanding without being put on low priority queue or being locked out for 30+ minutes for dodging. This wouldn't fix everything, it would mostly be a way to deal with those rare instances where you have multiple trolls in succession, and you have to choose if you want to further stack your dodge penalty or have a miserable 20 minutes 4v6. This would slightly alleviate that without being appealing under normal circumstances so it wouldn't be used willy nilly.

Actually this would speed up queue times.

Instead you'd just be in many consecutive champion selects over and over.

Elipo1 votes

The time window should have been closed by the time you see the enemy comp

U R Good At Game1 votes

tbh idk if that's all a bad thing. I'm tired of losing games because my team refuses to make a comp and they have like Illaoi, Amumu, Annie, Jinx and Leona.

hhaavviikk18 votes

and look as 90% of ranked games get disbanded because it turns out the enemy has a better team

SwaggyMcGhee42013 votes

People could vote to disband if they're counterpicked or if their team comp looks significantly worse than the other team's, though.

I don't see a problem here? :^)

Xela Syab6 votes

Trundle sounds like you want some troll support.

Hyperiön3 votes

To add onto this. I think that you should get to disband, but you lose 3LP, similar to a dodge, except you don't have to wait the 5-10 minutes to queue up again.

rtbf761092713 votes

problem is they are very often with friends meaning your vote would fail anyways. In fact I think the majority of the time this has happened to me, I was solo in a lobby with a group of 3 or 4

Majestic Sock1 votes

With the solo / duo que coming back for ranked on the other hand if such a system was implemented and made so a majority vote was needed instead of a unanimous vote it could be viable. I have been playing with alot more toxic, flaming and just downright unpleasant people on my team and even on the enemy team and would not mind seeing more ways to punish / deter this type of behavior in season 7, since it seems to get worse with each new season...

TheNeemDream2 votes

If there's an LP penalty then you might as well dodge. This would just make it difficult to play an off meta pick and as others have said, the queue times would become long as people dodge any time the enemy's team looks better.

MonkeyMadness2 votes

Riot will never do this because they have this fucking moronic self-righteous attitude that anything that might possibly be abused is automatically bad, even if it will benefit the vast majority of the community. They also have this idiotic idea that verbal abuse is the only/worst kind of toxicity and pretend that trolls don't exist, and when confronted with evidence to the contrary, they still find an excuse to punish that trolls victims more frequently and severely than the troll him/herself. Fuck Riot.

it be lìke that2 votes

its not "possibly abused" this would 10000000000000000000000% see abuse.

we got outdrafted boys, lets disband.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

So limit each player to a certain number of disband votes per week. This way, you only vote if you are really sure that you are going to lose. And make the voting blind so that you can't see how other players voted and "save" you votes.

rtbf761092711 votes

Do you realize just how much it would increase queue times to give each players a free out from game(s) every week? You know those times when you just want to find a game and 40 minutes later after 3 failed lobbies you don't have time to actually play a game anymore? That would be like, every day

Timewinder1 votes

Actually, they'll never do this because it's a retarded idea; if this ever went live everyone would be complaining about increased queue times and dodging based on how team compositions looked.

it be lìke that2 votes

would turn into "we got outdrafted, lets disband"

Dude Janna totally dominates Jax in lane. He literally can't do anything. You interrupt his leap, can W him through dodge, and shield if he happens to jump on you anyway.

It's such an easy lane haha.

Wolfram Oxford1 votes

I remember pre-30 games playing Janna mid and top and killing people. I also remember Soraka mid post-rework, also destroying mid.

Eric Senpai1 votes

Each game should have a Ban Congress of elected representatives for each team. Each ban should have to pass through an Executive Ban-Leader who can veto or pass the champion ban. When all is said and done, a Supremely Tubular Court of Ban Judges will decide if the ban falls within the laws of the Banstitution of Rito.

Zoeeee1 votes

It would have to be 5 players in agreement.

MagikarpIsBoss1 votes

That would just make this whole thing useless. If someone is trying to troll, they would just vote no. Making 5 people have to vote yes is just stupid.

Zoeeee1 votes

If it was 4-1 it could be abused aswell, it's less for trolls, and more for countered lanes, and bad team comps.

Mordepool1 votes

If they did implemented that would you finally STFU and play the game with Off Meta picks

Unicky1 votes

You could make it so that players that have previously disbanded cannot disband the next lobby. Chances are if you voted to disband the lobby to begin with you won't be a troll. You could also give players that disbanded from a lobby some kind of queue priority with each other to balance it out.

My only problem with my addition to that system is that a troll can vote to disband just to get in a lobby where people can't dodge. In my defense however, how many trolls are smart enough to figure that out? Especially if you never tell them about it (few enough people would be committed enough to trolling to learn and exploit a system to waste their own time, that'd be silly.).

That's my 2 cents on the issue.

bad arcade kitty1 votes

back then when dodge penalties were much higher people knew what to do you simply tell them go on and then pick as usually, most of people don't want to troll so they would either dodge themselves or play

General Esdeath 1 votes

No because Riot fears imaginary abuse that wouldn't happen unless it's a premade

R7 Factor1 votes

Should the guy that voted no take an lp penalty too?

Supreme Senpai691 votes

Yeah, otherwise everyone would vote no to try to get it disbanded without an LP loss. Or the troll/intent feeder could vote no, being the reason they're voting to being with, and lose no LP or force people to play. I highly doubt a premade 4 will go into games just to force the 5th to lose 3 LP

That's kinda unfair, what if the guy was Diamond 5 but decays to Plat 1 because of it

Supreme Senpai691 votes

That isn't how decay works, and it's also not how dodging works. I think you mean demoted instead of decayed. And you can't be demoted through dodging, you simply go -3 LP. Anyway, if it's a vote it honestly seems pretty fair to me. Can't really get more fair than a democracy

CithriaC1 votes

Nice though I imagine it could be abused in cases like, "Oh no we have Jinx XinZhao Diana Fizz Leona against Rammus.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

I don't care about the LP loss I'd gladly dodge to avoid the mmr loss. But Idk why it gives increased queue times :/

ƒoes1 votes

I could see it being abused by 3 or 4-man premades, let's say the random gets a role somebody on the premade wants. Said premade now gets to majority-vote the random out.

It would be nice but I can see it being abused way too easily.
