Dear Lyte,

Hi, my name is Michael I've been playing League of Legends since the ending months of Season 1. I turned 18 on December 13th of last year and on the same day I joined the fire department in my city. In my city we are a all volunteer company. Now I love League of Legends but you can bet your little butt I love being a firefighter a hell of a lot more. However that does not mean I won't play League when I'm not working or other personal affairs. In my past history I've had a few bump-ins with Pendragon (RIP) and have since then improved on my behavior, I have not, however ever, ever, EVER intentionally AFK'd in a game of League because of toxic behavior. So tell my why you think it's acceptable to put "We understand emergencies or urgent situations come up however~" or something to that extent after I come back from a possible structure fire? Is this a joke?

In the past I have emailed the Riot support over some time bans because of my apparent "toxic afking sprees". They were always fire calls that I had an obligation to respond to. The Riot support team refused to lift the time bans even after I offered to get the - Dispatcher logs, run reports, accountability reports, recordings of the call, radio logs ect. ect. all signed and dated. They gave some BS reason along the lines of the usual automated response so I know It fell on deaf ears and dropped it. ( This was over a year ago, but I'm just using it to get my point across. )

What's the point of this discussion? There are people that play League of Legends that are more than just the average joe. First Responders player League of Legends. We like to have down time too, but when those tones go out we know that we have a responsibility to serve and protect. I had a possible structure fire on Thanksgiving day because there's always some idiot trying to cook their turkey in some new and exciting way somewhere in the country. It turned out to be nothing but a oven fire and some smoke in the house. I made it back home and the game of ranked that I left in the loading screen was still going on. The moment I got into the game I was IMMEDIATLY harassed and flamed and raged at and call allllllllll kinds of names because I had left the game before it even started. I explained to my teammates that someone almost lost their house today and that a game of League of Legends was no where near as important than what I was doing. They were having none of it. I went on to go 15/10+/x that game but my team was too far down on objectives it didn't matter. At the end game lobby I got that stupid prompt telling me to type in "I agree". I wasn't having any of that bullshit and alt+f4'd and re logged on.

I didn't post anything till now because I've been seeing everyone posting about how they have connection issues this and that and getting this prompt.

What I'm trying to say to you, Lyte, is you're absolutely. Fucking. Delusional.

If you think League takes priority to anything in the real world, you need to get your head out of your ass and smell the roses buddy because you're in for a wake up call.

Your "new and improved" toxic elimination systems are causing more friendly fire than enemy casualties.

Connection issue? Prompt Bad storm and power outage? Prompt Being a firefighter / EMT? Prompt Being a toxic trolly scumbag? Don't worry you didn't afk

And you, community, you have to realize that the 10-25 LP you lost because someone afk'd in your game is nothing compared to something that the person could be losing or has already lost. It's a video game. Not even in 5 years nothing you do now in this game is going to matter or do anything for you. Someone could have lost their home this Thanksgiving, sorry I had to inconvenience your LP grind for one game to make sure that that did not happen.

I know this is either going to get downvoted or go unnoticed but - /rant

I would probably... not play League of Legends while you are on duty. As much as I respect your service to your city, you can't excuse the fact that you are ruining the experience for 9 other players in the game. Yea, I get the importance of your work, but you are below the 1% mark in a problem that Riot and other competitive game companies have been getting harassed over since the release of their games.

Personally, I've noticed an improvement in my matchmaking since this new system was implemented.
