My Counter to 10 Bans :3

So Jeremy Gaming Curious did a video of a 10 ban system. Though not officially announced it would be a good step due to the large amount of champs in the game. Though I am for this I am also against this and here is a couple (kinda weak) reasons why;

  • As a newer player to be relevant in ranked you need runes, some complete rune pages costing up to 9-12k ip for a fresh set (hybrid pen/flat cdr/etc), to be relevent. Adding these 4 champs forces people to spend an additional 1800 (laughable) to 5200 additional ip minimum, factor in tier three rune costs, and whatever other dumb things we (I) decide to buy it's a major set back for those of us (Im a p2w whore so w/e) who don't wanna buy ip boosts.

  • Next there is the perma ban list. Any person ever will ban 'meta' or strong champs 24/7. As a Riven (here comes the hate) one trick that leaves me to pick my pocket picks (kled, irelia, trundle, olaf) almost 60%+ of my games. There is a reason those champs are my pocket picks, I dont find them hard to understand or use but they just arent fun for me (kled is tho, kled is bae) even though I know I can play them semi-notbad (Im silver). This leaves a very strict blanket of bans that will force people to A) go into blind pick to play said champs or B) just have a very liniar banning phase where there is less 'stratagy' and 'worth' of bans.

  • Then the que times, omg the que times. It's bad enough it already takes me 10 to 15 minutes on average to even start a ranked game. Not to mention those trolls who afk or just leave at then end of champ select, and god forbid this happens 2-3 times in a row let alone a day(a whole game wasted in time). This would increase the amount of time almost defnitly or just introduce a wierd banning mechanic to cut time. Let's hope that's not the case though.

  • And finally, too many champs are just not 'meta' or relevant enough CURRENTLY for this to work in my mind. Though my mind isn't the game and I'm crazy as it is so w/e. I just don't think certain things are clear cut enough for this to workout for anyone who is medium gold and lower (70%ish of the games pop). BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT it would be nice to see this go through. Given my complaints there is a lot of champs in the game, with minor tweaks in rune/champ costs, and game mechanics that make more champs relevant (seems like things are going that way) it would work well. Except for the que times. The only solution I have to this is to shorten ban times per person by 25-45% but w/e we'll see what Rito comes up with.

TL;DR 10 Bans is a bad idea in the current state of the game imo With reduction of champ & rune costs (champs are being released causing a saturation in high cost champs with no additional price reductions) it will be more 'noob' (not the goal of 10 bans mind you) friendly Que times would be soooooooo long Minor complaints and fixes Etc

Well that is just my opinion I would love to hear what everyone has to say about this (including you rito lurkers)

P.S. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REDUCE SOME PRICES IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE A CHAMP PRICE HAS BEEN REDUCED P.S.S. WHY THE HECK DO CDR BLUES COST 860 IP EACH IM HURTING RITO HUUUURTING P.S.S.S I'm slightly crazy and Kled is a great champ summoner 4

So what? 1 ban per player makes the game feel better. Right now I feel like shit being first or second pick. With everyone getting a ban that goes away and it's worth just about any downside.

I think there should be a werid banning system.

For example... bot three ban in each team ban as for now. Then there is 5 picks... then the top two players of each team each get a ban now we have some idea of what the teams are trying to do with thier teams.

Problem would this is you could literally destroy peoples team comps in 5's.

That is kind of the point, so you wouldn't just lose in champ select, and force people to be flexable.

Champions actually get reduced every time a new champion is released. There is always the same number of 6300 IP champions (if you include the higher release price of new champs for that first few days).

Last ip reduction for a champ was/will be a champ released in 2012 (4 year buffer of 6.3k champs). This buffer makes me cry... Oh well. XD

  1. This point shouldn't matter because if you're relatively new to the game, chances are, the first time you hit ranked, you're gonna be Bronze/Silver anyways, so delaying that by another 5200 IP won't change anything. If anything, it might prepare you more since you get more games under your belt.
  2. Sounds like a personal problem.
  3. This is either an exaggeration or you need to stop trying to play on a Wednesday at 4 AM.
  4. Uh, if you ban what's at the top of the meta, then people will move into 2nd tier picks, hence those become meta to an extent. Not that big of a deal.

  1. Factor in an average ip gain of 90-210 ip per game (lose-win) to the extra 5.2k ip for champs plus the extra 9-13k for a viable rune set totaling 14.2k-18.2k giving you a range of 158 (if you were to lose every game) to 87 (if you were to win every game) of additional games you would have to play in order to be competent in ranked with tier 3 runes.
  2. This problem applies to a lot more people then just me buddy.
  3. Not an exageration if you factor in average to to find a game plus ban and pick phase you're looking close to 3-5 minutes to find a game and an average champ select of 7-10 minutes takin over a data pool of 350 games over bronze all the way through low plat. Support or fill has a much lower que time fyi.
  4. Becomes a big deal as it screws with the flow of the game. Riot would either A) Have to make more champs relevent (hence new assassin update) or B) Would have to nerf/rework champs. A is the better prefference as it keeps the flow of the game wile b runs the risk of just making everything stale imo.

  1. So you get 87+ extra games under your belt. Again, why is this a bad thing?
  2. So several other people share your personal problem. Who cares?
  3. I'm well aware of support/fill having a lower support/fill time, fyi, though adding 2 minutes to each champ select period really isn't that big of a deal, hence why it is quite the exaggeration.
  4. People having to play other 'less meta' things screwed the flow of the game? This sounds like you're just going back to point 2, which we've already identified is a personal problem.
