Will it be possible to get refunds on Galio skins?

I bought the legendary Galio Gatekeeper skin because I loved how it looks right now. The way his move animation works, flapping his wings and soaring over the ground. It really makes him feel distinctive and unique---like a gargoyle.

Art is a subjective thing, but the new gatekeeper skin literally hurts my soul. He no longer flies. He's no longer a gargoyle. Now he's some colossus who walks around on the ground. He's a different species now, a golem.

I mean, it's not that the new concept isn't cool. It's just not the product I purchased. And it's not a product I would purchase, because the champion is now so different thematically that it no longer appeals to me. And you're planning to take away my original product and replace it with something I never would want.

When reworks first came out, it was obviously a concern that Riot would take people's purchases and turn them into something else. But now it seems like the company has completely disregarded the sanctity of their customer's purchases, to which end my only request would be to at least refund us the RP we used to purchase these skins before you changed them so drastically.

Hm, in a normal consumer environment you'd certainly be eligible for a refund.. but online games are different.

You don't own your account, you don't own your skins and you don't own your Riot points.

All you own is the license to access it.

So technically you don't own Gatekeeper Galio, Riot does. They just let you use it on their account.

Can't refund what you don't own.

He's not even a gargoyle anymore

... How? I mean before he wasn't really a gargoyle anyway. He was realistically just a winged golem... which is what Gargoyle's are mostly anyway.

I think they should refund him if it doesn't fit what you specifically were looking for originally then i get it. How bad does it hurt riot to refund some fake money to spend on some other fake object? potential loss is minimal and customer satisfaction through the roof right? I would bar purchase of the skin in the future so you can't just refund it and buy it again on sale though.

Is there a difference between a golem with wings and a gargoyle?

If someones mentioned this before sorry buuuuuut

In the past people abused the "rework refund request". So riot stopped doing it. iirc people would buy a champion for IP before it was changed, then refund for RP after it was changed. it was such a fiasco that riot stopped the system entirely.

Skins were a waste of money to begin with, the only thing that should matter is improving your game not your looks.

CHAMPION UPDATE REFUND POLICY We do NOT offer refunds for any visual or gameplay updates for champions. For more information about this policy, please check out our Champion Update Schedule article.

https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201751864-Content-Refund-FAQ#h5

However, If you have not used any of your 3 refund tokens before, or have at least one token left, you can try to open a support ticket and make it clear you want to use one of your available token to refund the skin by naming your ticket "I want to use my refund token to refund x". There is an official 90 days limit on refunds, but if you are polite and suggests that you were not aware said champion would get an update when you bought the skin, maybe they'll let it slide.

If you bought the skin within the past 90 days, then you are free to refund the skin within the client.

I agree.

They changed Gatekeeper into what looks like a spinoff of the Soulstealer line of skins- which are skins I don't like. I would have never purchased this new version of the skin.

Of course, this happened with Fiora and Nidalee too- not just skins changing into things I didn't like, but their playstyles. I no longer enjoy playing these champions, but here I am, owning multiple skins for each one. I understand the need to refresh the game and update old champions, but I do feel a little ripped off.
