Tank Ekko is straight-up B-freaking-S. It's so stupid how he can build rod of ages
, everything else tank, not take a scratch, and still one-shot you. Plz nerf his bs dmg while building tank. Make the right decision [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
MunchCrunchLunch4 votestank ekko does no damage. not nearly as much damage as tank fizz. about half of his damage was gone after the first nerf. and the two latter nerfs just reduced his damage significantly he does as much damage as any regular tank class champion. sure he can get 1 ap item and do the damage he did before but thats 1 less tank item that he used to build. i havent played ekko since his last nerf and hes my highest winrate and played champion in ranked hes quite overnerfed both tank and ap atm. you can check my match history hes a little too weak right now no better than malphite or maokai. mana hungry top laner.
i used to play tank ekko before it became meta (i didn't know about the orignal tank ekko because i havent started playing then) but it jsut seemed more natural to idk get an attack speed item like devoure and go tank and be a little pesky instead of building ap and getting on shot before proccing a single passive hit.
they nerfed his W damage. W stun. Q slow. Q inward and outward damage. E damage. ult damage. and all of that was simply because they reduced the cd of his E and Q by like 1.5 seconds each at the first cpl ranks. hey i used to be one of the people that complained about him doing too much damage at first. but they nerfed the wrong things. he needed work. sorta like illaoi. he needed some changes. according to riot. hes a skirmisher. also. hes the only ap skirmisher in the game. the rest are ad who have reliable damage with autos. he either needs to be made an ad champ or have some large scale changes because ekko just doesn't work the way he is meant to be,
i've been one shot by a maokai with just a roa as a squishie. top laners are usually few levels ahead and can kill you with just base damages.
i mean go fight a volibear that will chunk all of your health in a cpl seconds building 0 damage items. and i bet the new vlad can build 0 ap items. get ap for free from his passive. and two shot you with his low cd E over and over.
ekko is a terribly designed champion and i think a lot of people here agree hes only ever been viable as a tank if you ignore the release that didn't let you see his ult shadow because he just used to Q->R for a pentakill.

Tank Ekko is disgusting mess that does way too much damage for the items he builds. and full ap Ekko with a can just blast an entire team and ult back to 100% health plus have a shield the size of his entire health bar. the champ just has an overloaded kit that has way too much damage for all the things it does.

Weasel Kensei1 votesMany people predicted based on the last nerfs he got that a is all it would take for him to be right back where he was. Honestly its not even that bad of an item for the old problematic tank Ekko, other than he didnt power spike as much with just it, but once he had 3 items and fully charged RoA you were kinda extra fucked because he was tanky and doing more damage than a straight tank Ekko. Still it was "safer" to build core tank items first on him, because that made him basically unkillable, and thats the point of tank Ekko.
If Ekko can kill you eventually, but you can never kill him, then he wins by default if you play his game... and since hes an over loaded "outplay" champ... well its really hard not to play his game.
But Riot can never admit they made a mistake, and in this case releasing Ekkos kit into the game at all, so we can never have a real fix for his state unless they just dumpster-gut his numbers so no one plays him and we can all stop worrying about it. Is that a good solution? No, but with Ekkos kit, hes like and if their numbers are good, their kit cant be dealt with except by a few champs.
Then were stuck playing the pick X champ because busted OP, and ban the best counters to busted OP champ. This limits diversity because of the pick ban environment. The only solution to Ekko, is dumpster Ekko. His kit is as toxic as it comes, and if he has good numbers than he will see play and it will almost certainly be tank Ekko.
All that said, tank Ekko IS WEAKER than it has been in the past, not worthless, but not the broke OP flavor of the month level "I R teh good at LoLz cause I duz the flavor of the month abuse kappa 420 salt dank kek meme" that the kiddies pick up from streamers... that the streamers pick up from Koreans.
Tank Fizz is ugly, and with the tank Ekko nerfs, tank Fizz is now better. Of course Fizz is another toxic kit champ people would rather cut themselves than play against, but thats another thread for that discussion.
