Crazy idea for Aatrox's rework that would never happen but would be best for the game imo

So as many of you guys know. starting with the mini-rework to Aatrox's passive and W, his win and play rate has slowly been raising each patch due to item changes and the meta shifting in his favor. Now he's one of the best top laners for solo queue and pro play and in my opinion isn't strong in an unhealthy way (an example of strong in an unhealthy way would be Galio on the patch with his insane Q).

Now Aatrox definitely has some problems in his kit that warrants a rework (his E is shit) but what these last few patches have proven to me is that the core of his current kit (the passive and w) aren't flawed enough to justify removing his current playstyle completely, which is what the rework is doing.

The issue is that while I don't think removing Aatrox's playstyle and gameplay identity is a good idea, I also really enjoy the rework based off the few games of him I've played on PBE. Everything about it is great and I will probably end up playing it a lot when the rework launches. The only issue about all of this is that new aatrox replaces old aatrox and losing old aatrox is an overall loss for the game.

So here's my crazy solution, put the Aatrox rework back into development for a couple months and release him as a new Darkin character.

People have been complaining that Aatrox's new visuals and VO doesn't capture what they loved about old Aatrox (cool and collected attitude) already. so why not take it a step further and change his VO and visuals enough to make him a new Darkin champion? Darkin are supposed to look similar to one another so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

The only cons I see to doing this is that new Aatrox's kit would take longer to release, the lore team would have to heavily edit or redo their story for him and that they would have to eventually do another Alistar/Xin Zhao sized rework for Aatrox. also promo material like the World Ender animation and reveal page would be obsolete.

but I think the pros heavily outweigh all that. People would get an extra new champion release this year and we wouldn't lose a champion kit that's fun to play and works well in the game.

here's a couple plays.tv clips showing moments I had playing Aatrox that wouldn't be possible with the rework

Not new for me that Aatrox is hidden op. But people always said he is garbage xD. Now with the rework we are losing one great champion and everyone is losing his head. I am glad that I mained him since first release, I had a lot of fun and crazy plays like those. I am not happy with the rework, Aatrox was always perfect for me, but I can see how many hypocrites there are now that everyone "loved" the old one while never playing him and hoping for a rework.

People got what he wanted, I just feel sorry for trully Aatrox mains that have to eat the rework (we are the real victims here).

Wow... that looks really... fun? Using 2 abilities and then going to make a sandwich... [zombie-brand-clap]
