Yasuo Passive and couterplay

I just want an honest statement about Yasuo's passive. Riot, you all claim and alter the game heavily around the lack of counterplay with certain champion abilities and whatnot. But as far as I can tell, nothing has been said or clarified whatsoever about Yasuo's passive and the extreme lack of counterplay involved in it. It looks overall like you want nothing more than to avoid discussing it completely. I'm not talking about his kit or apparent weaknesses, but the fact that he is still one of the most played champs regardless of all other circumstances evoke a certain amount of curiosity as to why you elicited such a champ to have a non-counterplay passive in the first place compared to all the other balance change reasoning talked about regarding counterplay. Its extremely hypocritical. I just want any kind of reasoning by a legit Riot post. If Riot was not required to balance around rediculous passives and effects like Yasuo, it would be much healthier for the game in general.

Yasuo his passive and no counterplay? ... You can see exactly when the shield is ready (you can see his flow bar) All you need to do is auto attack him once with whatever ranged champion. and then you only have his windwall to take care of, which has a 25 second cooldown.

You have to talk about his kit. Counterplay is something we look at for kits as a whole, not just for specific abilities. Steroids generally have little or no counterplay because their purpose is just to enhance a champion's damage passively or for a certain period of time, but that doesn't matter if the champion's methods of applying that damage still have counterplay.

In order to use his double-crit passive (I'm assuming you're talking about that and not the shield), Yasuo has to use the rest of his kit. Everything else in his kit has counterplay, so Yasuo as a whole has a very good amount of counterplay.

What's the counterplay to his E? I'm curious.

Yasuo has plenty of counterplay, heck his only cc is his third Q which is easily telegraphed. He cant ult without a knock-up, and he's an easy kill for CC heavy teams period. Outside that passive he relies heavily on Lifesteal, and any damage really hurts him. He's squishy AF.

Honestly my biggest gripe about Yasuo, more than anything, is his double crit. He scales, in my opinion, far too hard off of crit, and double crit doesn't even thematically fit into his kit, it's just kinda... there.

At the same time, Riot has to balance Items and champs around his crit and passive. If the champ didn't exist in the first place, it wouldn't be so stupid.

sorry but what? Yasuo is balanced around said items not the other way around. 0 crit items were added OR changed since he has been released so tell me how Riot has to balance anything around his passive?
