Why did they make Bard so useless?

like seriously i like Bard because of his design and concept but he can't do anything in battle. His stats are very low. No AD, no AP not even defenses. He is support/mage but his AP is low and he isn't even tanky to make up for it. His abilities are not that useful seriously either. His Q is just an attack that slows and sometimes stuns. His W is a healing shrine that can be destroyed by the opponent. His E is just an escape that is very hard to use and his enemies can also use it and his ulti is just zhonyas on everyone. Like okay riot you cursed him with bad stats, at least make his abilities more viable. He is so inferior to most supports. Soraka has so much instant healing, good damage, silence and all. Leona has so many stuns and power and she is tanky. Generally, Bard is just lackluster. He doesn't help much at all asides from the rare escape with E and the rare rescue with R. His abilities are VERY conditional. I mean, his W is hard to use in teamfights because opponents just step on the shrines and destroy them and they need time to heal u significantly. His E lets everyone to travel with you. His R once again puts everyone into stasis.

Riot HAS to buff him up either by stats, cause they really are low, like, he doesn't even have a decent stat. At least make him tanky. Or, most importantly, remake his abilities. Ok with Q. ** Make his W not destroyable by opponents. Make E so that only allies can travel and make R put only enemies in stasis. His abilities are like double edged swords. Just make him able to SUPPORT his allies. **
