MMR questions for ranked

Hello I was hoping to get some answers from some of you knowledgeable people. So I just started taking ranked seriously this season and I'm trying to climb. I've won 15 of my last 16 matches all with positive KD and I have a low mmr of 972-988 depending on where I look. I've climbed from bronze 5 to bronze 3 and about to get to bronze 2 (at 63 LP 8th place) assuming all goes well. I was getting about 20 some LP till about mid bronze 4 now I only get 15 LP. I'm wondering if anyone knows what factors play in the whole calculating of the MMR. Like I said I've won 15 outta my last 16 matches all with a positive KD so I would think that would be really good towards the final number. Is cs part of the calculations? I usually end up roaming a lot getting kills helping teammates focusing on kills and towers rather then cs so admittedly I could get better at that. Any information would be greatly appreciated and I'd like to say thank you ahead of time.....Thanks.

Dong Huap did a good job of explaining this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdOsytbqBCU

I hate watching videos of things that could be explained in text, and that one's not particularly cogent. (I stopped watching about 2.5 minutes in when he made a masturbation joke. So I missed the last 5 minutes where he presumably goes into detail.) So quickly:

Your MMR goes up when you win and down when you lose. It does not change when you (or anyone) dodges a game or when a game is canceled due to /remake, and I'm 90% sure it doesn't change when games are loss forgiven (such as when Riot is having server problems).

Winning/losing is supposedly the only factor that goes into your ranked MMR. (It's more complicated in normals, where things like your summoner level and your status as "probably a smurf" affect things.) Riot has said this is to minimize the effect of people doing suboptimal strategies that hurt their teammates. (For example, if you think your team is going to lose, you might just sit in lane and farm to increase your CS. This behavior is already rewarded by the Champion Mastery system. But they didn't want it to affect the integrity of game ranking.)

So just keep trying to win (if you want your rank to go up in the short term) or improve yourself (if you want your rank to go up in the long term). Don't worry about anything else!
