A possible Yasuo balance

ImGonnaGetCamped··2 votes·992 views

(This beginning part is why I think Yasuo is OP. Pass over this if you want to go right to the balance) In my opinion Yasuo is OP. Here's why I think that: Only a zeal is required to do massive damage due to his passive and his Q. When going for trades, if your ranged his wind wall can easily block a ton of damage assuming the Yasuo has decent reaction times. His passive makes it much harder to trade with him. His E gives him a ton of mobility when around enemy minions. His ult gives him more than enough armor pen to deal with most tanks. I do agree that he is squishy and can be easily dealt with in team fights, but as long as someone on the team has an aoe knock up (i.e. Malphite, Zac, Wukong, Alistar etc...) he is able to do massive damage to enemy champions, while giving his team a few moments to re position.

Here's the balance I think would help in early game laning phase:

A visual representation could be shown on the minons that are on cool down for his dash. To be clarify, when Yasuo dashes to a minion/monster, any enemy champions that have sight of the minion/monster will see some sort of visual representation by the minion/monster, If a change like this happened it would allow champions on the other team to know when it is safe to approach the minion wave. If laning against someone like Katarina, if she uses her shunpo, you know you have a little bit of time to approach her without jumping onto you, but with Yasuo, he can dash through a minion wave multiple times within a few seconds. Due to this, unless you're counting the minions, its very hard to tell if its safe to approach the minion wave to farm. If enemy champions were able to see which minions he can dash to, it would allow them to know if it's safe to farm.

Sorry for the poor formatting. (And a poll cause why not)

EDIT: Any Yasuo mains out there, please tell me what you think about this.

This will get buried in downvotes by the trashuo mains. Its kind of a secret it seems but PD Frozen Mallet is the most cancerous Yasuo build I've ever experienced. Its not even fucking fair but that champ wasn't designed to be fair.

The only problem i have with yasuo is the double crit % which i believe is insane for any champion to have even one as risky as yasuo. Why not just remove it and buff his kit , having double crit chance seems like overkill for anybody to have.

Don't forget the other part of it that lowers those crit by 10%. His overall damage is actually lower then other melee ADCs, he just has more mobility then them.

imo, the 10% crit dmg reduction is not enough. He can attack incredibly fast, and he can easy get 100% crit in the early game, while everybody is still squishy enough for him to continue to snowball.

And just like how he can get lots of crit early game, you can get lots of armor. Without AD, crits mean nothing, so when you are only dealing 90 damage from a crit because your opponent armor stacked, it doesn't mean much. This is also why you only see Yasou mid against champions that can't afford early armor stacking and never top. He can't reliably top because brusiers have good base damages and can build armor and all but nullify him.

Armor is barely a problem for any of the Yasuos I've played with. Considering his ult gives 50% armor pen for 15 seconds, armor isn't really a problem. Plus, IE gives quite a bit of AD

Well that is because you let him ulti you and you are also playing champions which he counters into him. Play a bruiser or tank against him, stack armor make him useless.

I let him ult me? Really? I guess you've made it all better. I'll stop letting people land skill shots on me then I'll become the best league player in the world. Thanks for the advice. In all seriousness though, it's not only up to him to land the knockup. Yasuo can ult off of any knock up. Including ones from jglers (i.e. jarvan, lee sin, zac). Onto the second point, as I said before, his ult gives him 50% armor pen. Stacking 300 armor won't protect you in any way whatsoever. In addition, it's kinda hard to stack armor when you get half healthed when trying to farm.

Yeah he can, but solo, there is a very clear window when he can and can't do it that you can abuse.

Yes...it will, there is a reason it is 50% and not 100%, obviously it won't protect you as MUCH, but it will still overall protect you.

In addition, it's kinda hard to stack armor when you get half healthed when trying to farm.

Get better then, if you know you can't trade with him, don't let him get close and poke you. Know the window you can trade and trade into him, if you can't do it with your current champion, try a different one. I suggest tanky AP champions that don't have skillshots that can't be blocked by his wall or tanky AP champions that just don't care about it like

Mordekaiser Swain Vladimir Rumble

Or if your team already has an AP threat, you can bring an AD mid, you don't have to blindly follow the meta, champions like

Darius Trundle if you are good Renekton

can heavily stack armor and still do decent damage with Renekton and Darius being able to poke him back.

While we at Yasuo's clarity, what about removing invisible Q's?

I still think his W can be targetted to lower his safety when it comes to late game. The fact that you can cancel projectiles coming from behind you by firing the Windwall infront of you is one of the reasons.

Someday, people will learn to tank brusiers against him, and Yasou won't ever see play again.

He loses lane to basically any bruiser/tank (So pretty much every meta top laner), Kayle, Kennen, Fizz, Annie, Veigar, Pantheon, Ekko, Diana, Azir, Malzahar, Swain, Xin Zhao, Wu Kong, etc...

So basically he loses to anyone that is tankier than he is, anyone with strong, reliable CC+burst and some ability to harass him, or anyone who can trade basic attacks with him and win. Malz and Kayle were the go-to Yasuo counters back when he was actually strong. He can bully a lot of characters at levels 1-2, but as long as they survive, they will start taking a lead after the very early game is over.

If anything, Yasuo is actually a bit weak right now, though he snowballs super hard because of his passive double crit chance (his core Items literally give him more stats than they give other characters, giving him a larger advantage for a relatively small lead than many other characters can get) that they can't buff him.

He's definitely not op. His laning is honestly hell if you know how to counter him. Despite what people think, it takes a tremendous amount of skill to play him properly. He has to be able to do well enough to get to his late game spike.

While I downvoted for your little "OMGYASUOSOOPWAHHHH" section, the idea you have seems fair enough. So far the indicator is only visible to Yasuo, I don't see why making it visible to everyone is of any problem... other than possible issues pertaining to too many particles or the like.
