Dont go GP against Rengar top

Im a gold 5 gp main. I just played against a plat 1 rengar in top. Oh my god I've never been made that helpless on GP before. Constantly leaping from the bush, with a leap that literally covers the whole lane, made it virtually impossible for me to place a barrel, or even walk forward, because as soon as I did I'd eat a full combo. Felt incredibly bad. He had phase rush so whenever my jungler ganked (who was hecarim) he'd just proc it and run away. He bought a kindlegem first item and even though I had sheen it looked like I was doing about roughly 150 dmg every q even if i managed to hit him with a barrel. Overall it was a fucking horrible experience so if anyone happens to read this NEVER pick GP into Rengar in the top lane unless you want that final push to making you commit suicide.

Put a barrel next to the bush, if he tries to go inside drop a barrel in there and pop his ass. Save your oranges for his bola. Then proceed to harass him out of lane.

You probably lost because of the elo difference, more than anything.

This exactly. I have been on the other end a few times and sometimes the GP is dumb and lets me do whatever, other times I feel worthless.

also drop a barrel in the middle of the wave for good measure you can proc it if he tries to go onto one of your low hp minions

and ofc again if he wants to go into bush

Rengar in lane is just cheesy because of his level 2 anyway but i always feel like if i can avoid that he is beyond useless

or play sion instead and use your Q over every low hp minion and just stop him mid dash so he can either sit back in lane and eat your E or miss all cs xD

This isn't so much a "don't be GP against Rengar" problem as it is a "don't be G5 against P1" problem.

As a former GP and former Rengar player, I always wondered why players dont just put two barrels in the same spot so that champions with a ranged dash auto like Ekko or Rengar can't just auto-attack the barrel from safety without getting punished.

If you have bush control and are barreling on yourself then ur good, if not then ripreno. He shouldn't be outrading your Q + auto barrel + enhanced auto.

It isn't the worst matchup, you can deal with it a number of ways. My choice is to just give him the early game, let him push and then farm, until I buy sheen and ninja tabis. Then I start shoving and trading. One of his weaknesses is being shoved in, he doesn't have access to the brushes so you'll have an easier time against him, as long as you don't get ganked.

I beat a plat Rengar with GP, I don't see the problem there. Just Q and put barrel in the bushes, you have klepto you gain free potion from just pressing Q on his champion.
