Would Locking Players to Random Picks Stop ARAM Dodging?

As an avid ARAM player, I'd love to see some measure introduced to stop people from dodging to avoid playing a champion in ARAM.

One of the most common (and ingenious) methods I've seen mentioned would be to lock players to the champion they were assigned (or rolled into). If they dodge, their next queue will assign them the same champion. You got Sejuani? Go ahead. Dodge. Guess who you're playing next time?

Would this be too complicated to implement? This, alongside the champ pool being opened up in the ARAM queue would be absolutely amazing.

As an avid dodger of unwanted champions in ARAM. If this got implemented, i would no longer play ARAM. ever again. I refuse to get stuck into a game on a champion that either I personally dislike or performs suuuuper terrible in ARAM.

The problem with this reasoning is that it's not just a dodge.

Running into an occasional dodger is unpleasant, but fine. With (generally) ten players in a match, it's bound to happen sometimes. Perhaps someone had client/network issues, or maybe something came up. Unpleasant teammates? Whatever.

Unfortunately, in ARAM, it's not uncommon to run into several dodges in a row. Particularly if people are dodging purely to avoid certain champs (That's what rerolls are for), that unpleasantness quickly changes into annoyance and frustration. It seems pretty reasonable to be irritated when you're waiting for your eighth queue pop because you had a dodger in the seven prior lobbies. Hopefully you'll think again before your next dodge, since there might be a guy who's been waiting to play a game of ARAM through queue pop after queue pop after queue pop.

So I'll offer an improved fix: Apply LeaverBuster penalties to dodges.

And I'd rather see less players (like you) in ARAM than appease that kind of pathetic crap.

Leaverbuster only punishes for CONSISTANT dodges. Meaning if you dodge ARAM games nonstop due to getting bad comps / champions... You deserve it. If you want to play a specific champion. QUE FOR ANOTHER MODE!

I'm pretty sure every ARAM dodger only dodges once within the time frame that counts as "Consistant" dodging. Unless they're idiots aha. 5 minute wait is okay. 20 mins? Yeah no thanks ^_^.

There's nothing wrong with dodging cause you despise the champion. But dodging cause you want a specific champion is just delusional. It's called aram for a reason aha.

I just wish there was a ARAM champion pool we can choose from. where maybe we can deselect up to like 5-10 champions and they wont ever give them to you in ARAM. With like 130 champions(something like that), This sounds pretty reasonable.

And what happens when two players -- who both were assigned Nunu in a previous game, and dodged -- are matched together in the same game (whether as teammates or opponents)? How will that be addressed? Right -- you didn't think that far ahead.

This terrible non-solution to a non-problem is the same from every single ARAM Bronze League™ cry-bad who posts it. And it's been posted by ARAM Bronze League™ cry-bads for at least three years. (Meaning it's not going to happen.)
