Thresh and Xerath changes that might bring them in line

I personally think Xerath and Thresh are weird two characters, I am not saying that they are OP, because I don't think they are, but they are broken, the same way Poppy and Vlad are kinda broken.

My problem with Thresh is really his loaded kit. W as a spell is a farming tool, a tool that gives a shield, and an escape tool. Literally three things in one. His E is not any better. It is a push back, pull in, and has a passive that gives burst dmg. I know riot has nerfed Thresh's numbers a few times but I feel like some changes would allow Riot to put some number back into his kit. 1: Change W so it no longer gives a shield. Thematically it makes sense he can farm souls with it and use it for an escape tool, but shield part feels tacked on. 2: Change Q so it doesn't pull back the target anymore. It already stuns for a decent duration, and lets Thresh gap close. 3: Get rid of passive on E, and make it apply to his active E ability. Thresh is like Blitz in that if he gets a hard engage it's really tough to get away, but unlike blitz he has a ranged auto, and ranged e spell with a passive that lets him AA harass. I feel like Thresh should have to choose between being able to harass, or having to engage, no other hard initiate support really has his harass potential.

The next thing is Xerath, I feel he is a inconsistent champion as in he doesn't really fit a champion theme. Xerath has one easy to land long range soft CC, and one slightly harder to land stun, as well as this long poke/farming tool on his q with low cooldowns. I want to compare him to another mage that is long range like him, that has a slow, and a "stun" (snare in this case) and a super long range ult, Lux. I understand they are different champs, but hear me out. Xerath has a Q that is a super long straight line skill shot that does full damage in everything in its path. There are very very few champions with this type of skill, most champions with this type of skill have the dmg on the skill taper off as more and more targets are hit, OR they a two part skill shot where damage is done on the way out and on the way back. Why does Xerath have this? No idea this basically lets him farm entire waves without any danger to himself as well as poke his lane opponent at the same time. Next are his cooldowns, if u compare his CDs to Lux, Xerath has much much shorter CDs. Lux Two main damage spells are 11 and 10 seconds in cooldown. Xeraths Q is 5 seconds, his w is 10, and his e is 11. Not only that, but Xerath has better AP ratios than lux, 0.75 and 0.6, while lux is 0.7 and 0.6, however this is slightly balanced out by the fact that Lux has better base values. However if you land Xeraths stun first, W will do extra dmg. Lux in order to maximize her potential damage has to get into auto attack range as well, while xerath does not. I feel like there are some changes that can be made so that laning versus a Xerath doesn't feel like you are just in a farm lane while he pokes u down constantly. I thought Riot wanted Xerath to be this Artillery mage, then why does he have low cooldown, Artillery typically takes a while to prepare. 1: Increase cooldown on his skills and up his damage would solidify his identity as an artillery mage. 2: Q should deal less damage like Varus's Q, they are basically the same skill, so I don't know why this isn't already done. 3: Q is easy to land, e is easy to land at closer ranges, so I feel like W should have it's delay go from 0.5 seconds to 0.65 or so.

Again, I don't think these champions are OP, since I play against them regularly and I've never really been in a situation where I thought there was no counter play, except the one time Xerath stole blue at lvl 1 with jungle Nidalee and proceeded to spam Q non stop. I just feel like some of the choices regarding their design seems a bit tacked on or inconsistent.

So you basically want to fuck up both champs for no good reason, got it

Xerath doesn't need nerfs. Dodge his skillshots and counterpick him by picking a gap-closing champion.

I care about xerath so I'll talk about him and I wana keep it short.

I think his w is fine, it already punishes the guy enough as is if he doesn't land them in the tiny circle.

And his e gives a different stun duration depending on how far he is from the person he is attacking. If he hits you right in front he stuns you for .75 seconds. If he hits you at max range I believe it's a 2 second stun.

You say they're not op but still fucking nerfing them hard. What is your logic? If you think they're disgusting to play against you should change their playstyle, you should not nerf straight.
