The new Draft Pick and the removal of Teambuilder...

First forum post, so please bear with me. There will be plenty of bullet points and TL;DR's.

**Let me start off by saying the new Draft Pick wasn't a bad idea. **

I think it's awesome that Ranked matches now allow you to have a chance of playing your best roles. I know PERSONALLY I'm decent at any role except for ADC, so it's nice to be able to play Ranked and not be forced to the ADC role when I main mid, support, top... etc. This system allows players to now be able to play the role they are good at and they enjoy, making sure you aren't stuck with a Master Yi support that wanted to play top, Shaco ADC that wanted to play mid, or... you get it.

TL;DR - In the situation of Ranked, the new Draft Pick is a system long overdue.

Now, this is the part that Riot messed up:

Teambuilder; completely removed, wiped, nonexistent from League of Legends. Like a lot of people, I exclusively played Teambuilder. Through Teambuilder, I was guaranteed my role and my champion, I could play with whatever team I wanted to play with and if I hosted the room I could even pick who I wanted on my team. Say I didn't want Annie mid lane but I was okay with Fizz mid lane, I could make that decision. That's what made Teambuilder so great. Everyone was absolutely 100% guaranteed the role they wanted right from the start, not a coin flip. Everyone was guaranteed to play the champion they wanted to play, there were no bans that prevented that, and Riot only made more money from it considering you could also purchase last minute champions, skins, and RP in the shop. You can't browse the shop in Draft or Blind.

Before I hit level 25, I was just on the verge of leaving League behind because Draft pick started to get too troubling and bothersome. People would dodge, lobby chat would rage and once you were in the game people would say "Only had 15 seconds to do my masteries, now they're incomplete and I picked the wrong runes... gg." This problem still remains with the new Draft, but these problems were non-existent with the old Teambuilder game-mode. Teambuilder allowed teammates all the time they needed to redo their rune pages, set up their masteries and even decide on the skin they wanted. Teambuilder was the ideal game-mode and Riot executed it perfectly. They even included icons that could be earned through playing different roles which motivated me to branch out and play newer roles like jungle and support. This was Riot's best decision ever.

TL;DR - Teambuilder was Riot's perfect game-mode by combining...:

-Guaranteed champion selection. -Guaranteed role selection. -Freedom to decide who you want on your team. -Freedom to join/leave a team comp. you aren't interested in. -No bans, allowing often banned champions play-time (Illaoi, Jhin, Fizz, Jax, Dr. Mundo, etc...) -Freedom to purchase RP, skins and champions while in lobby. -Dodging or needing to leave didn't shut-down an entire lobby. -Gave plenty of time for players to fix/create their masteries. -Gave plenty of time for players to fix/create their rune pages. -Icons motivated players to branch out and play different roles.

...and these are all things that either cannot or have a small/not-guaranteed chance of being accomplished in the new Draft.

_Note: It took me about 1-3 minutes to get from Teambuilder onto the match loading screen. It now takes me anywhere from 5-15 minutes to get from Draft/Ranked onto the match loading screen. _

Overall Recap/TL;DR:

The best decision for the League community would be to keep the new Draft Pick for Ranked and Normal Draft, and bring back Teambuilder for those who miss it, considering they're actually 2 completely different game-modes.

These are all my comments and points regarding the new Draft and removal of Teambuilder. Please leave feedback and hopefully Riot can get in touch with me and everyone else on the forum regarding this post/situation. Teambuilder needs to come back!
