Matchmaking system and ELO hell
As I've played other mobas, I've noticed there's not really an equivalent to our ELO hells. I had a long discussion with a riot employee about how their matchmaking system works, and basically the gist of it is if the system thinks you should be lower it'll push you lower by staggering LP gain and putting you with other demoters while placing you against better teams, which guarantees that there'll be plenty of ELO hell because anyone caught in this LP trap is essentially stuck until the next season of ranked; and naturally players who lose a lot are going to be a lot angrier, which creates more ragers and insures that the leavers/trolls/afking trend continues in the League community.
Though, rage quitting out of a ranked just guarantees that you're wasting your time in the first place. I've personally experienced 50+ leavers usually within the first 5 minutes, die twice than leave seems to be popular. However even with that bit of bad luck I've managed to get into my diamond promos several times, and dealing with all the leavers and babysitting the ragers doesn't nearly affect me as much as gaining 16 LP for a win, and than losing 25. The system just aggravates the problem of the already shitty community. I've played this game for 6+ years and Riot has yet to figure out how to balance champions or create a good matchmaking system. Why not just making it a random pairing of people with equal MMR, why does the system have to favor certain players over others because of their W/L ratio? A good player can do well every game than lose half the games because someone rages?
